Of course, I agree with all the others, I hope your dd's have a speedy recovery and that all goes well with them.
GG, as far as activities, these houses are not well insulated, so I stay under a large quilt all day and nap on and off, I've even let Sam onto the bed cause he keeps me warm (that's my dog folks, not a new boytoy)!! Havana was jammed last night. The music inside is great and its nice and cozy, we have a little room to do some line dances. We actually had a great time last night. We're going to venture out again tonight to Gators with our woolies and turtlenecks, and hope to have another fun evening. Wish us luck folks, if you don't hear from me, I've frozen to death... Anyone wanna join us tonight?????

Had a minor black out tonight in parts of Hemingway. Over in a about an hour.
Missed Bunco! Actually never went to Bunco. Seems everytime we try to go something happens or we get there late. Think the gods don't want us to play Bunco ![]()

Helene has a raucous Bunko group here in Ohio. A group of 12 that has met monthly for 21 years. A solid group of good friends that have helped each other through a number of crises by now. (Boom, Is the plural of crisis, crises?)
Thank you all for your very kind wishes. I have passed them on to our ailing girl. Gail. This is twice that I recall you have lost power in your area. We are expecting an Alberta Clipper today in Cincinnati. |

Last night, yes, Gracie, I confess, I was out there among 'em at Kroger. We were rushing through the aisles screaming in unison...running and screaming... "WhiteDeathWhiteDeathSurelySurelyItiscoming. WhiteDeathWhiteDeath!!!" And Kroger ran out of gallons of milk and we had to buy half gallons. And we stockpiled carbs and red meat high in our carts so we could hurry home and settle in to prepare for hibernation. And when we returned to our homes, we ate and watched the crawl across the bottom of the television screen, as school superintendents fell, one by one, and announced delays and even, finally, some closings -- before as much as one flake had fallen. And then, this morning, no snow. And the news people stood along the various roads in the tri-state area, North and South and East and West. And the news people pointed to misty little flakes that were trying to form. And they filled the time. And the stations just kept up the snowdance, on and on it went. Because they have to justify that hideously expensive weather stuff they all buy. And they drew charts and graphs and were finally driven to superimposing threatening white pictures of snowstorms on the maps. But the snowstorms were not really there. (And I suspect that they do not think we will notice how many of those weather forecasts are, sure enough, "Brought to you by Kroger.") And yes, finally, it started to come down. In earnest. And here we are. Inside. Looking at TOTV. Oh please oh please promise me, fellow Cincinnati Girl, that you will never tell them about how we act about snow and that we now have...ohhhhhh, I would guess about 3 inches. But I just turned on the news again and it is getting worse. Where did I put those cinnamon rolls? And, also, I hope your daughter gets all mended soon. Oh, fergudnesssake.
Mrs. Tony and I went out to lunch yesterday to enjoy the beauty of the snow here in PA. I measure it for the National Weather Service. The last snow storm started Dec. 28 and ran through the day before yesterday. I had almost 48 inches of snowfall. And we didn't go to the grocery once. Well, I did have to go the convenience store milk. Another storm is predicted to start in an hour. Really. I can wait to hear from Gracie and Boomer how four feet of snow would affect Cincinnati. My guess is they would be out of commission for three weeks. |

I recall a picture that TH posted here a few weeks ago. It was a picture of someone all bundled up against a giant snowstorm. That somebody was on a tractor, plowing away. A great big snow. But the person on the plow looked so brave and was obviously undaunted, plowing and plowing tirelessly. And yes, Mr. Tony, I remember that TH made it clear that the picture was at your house and that you were inside taking the picture of MRS. TONY! I remember stuff. Yes, I do. Boomer |
