Default Whats with the window sizes??

Wow...not one window that we can go to a store and just buy blinds/shades. All have to be customized. What a racket! They are litterly an 1 inch off standard measured blinds and shades. So who do you guys use. Looking for double cell shades and a couple sets of vinyle blinds. We had already planned to order the patio/lanai door window though Lowes /Bali custom but didn't think we would have to order all

Our last home had standard windows, walked in and bought shades and blinds..only customized the patio door because of the look . So this is a little aggravating.

The upside is that this house only has eleven windows. Our old house in Ohio had MANY more.

Sometimes you can buy a larger shade and have it cut down. You can also buy larger and do an outside mount.

Our Craftsman house in Winter Park, FL has 35 windows that we had to have covered with shutters so we are so happy to only have 13 in TV; custom size or not.

We used Budget Blinds in our NC new home.
We were talking about the window treatments when Undercover Boss came on....serendipity.

We have 13 windows and 2 sliders and I wore out a pair of shoes looking for window treatments, especially black out drapes for our bedroom. We had normal size windows back home and here we get those 25 inchers. I was really bummed by the size and that I couldn't buy ready made anything. Gave up and used Decorating Den for most of the window treatments. It was quite expensive but now I don't have to worry about it any more! We get out treatments in October sometime so will have to let you know how they turn out.

Default It's Downsizing

Maybe windows were downsized like everything else. Remember when a 2X4 was actually 2" X 4"? How about a former 3lb can of coffee is now 2lb 10.5oz? Price? Oh, it's still what we paid for a 3lb can (or higher).

Luckily our home in Rio Grande has the blinds already. Glad I don't have to go through that in TV. Had to something similar here in Montgomery.
