Default What's was your best neighborhood activity?

We will be in charge of a July Activity for our street. They have done several really fun, off campus "field trips", before we moved in our home.

So I am looking for some ideas for a group of about 30-40. Maybe patriotic, being July, maybe not?? It will be hotter than heck in July, so cool, comfy ideas would be appreciated.

Come on party people, please share you ideas!!

Thanks in advance!

Our neighborhood went on a Victory Casino cruise out of Port Canaveral. Lots of fun. Cost was $42/pp which included bus transportation, lunch and $20 back for gambling!

Our neighborhood put on a murder mystery. Several people played parts and everyone had to try to figure out the killer. We bought the play on the Internet for $35.00. We had a blast.

I went on this cruise from my brother's house in Merritt Island. I won $284. The first time I have ever won any money, I was thrilled. We had a lot of fun.

Good ideas! I like them both, still looking for more input!

Come on people, stop reading the negative threads and help me with a fun neighborhood event idea or two!

Thanks!!!

My personal favorite neighborhood activity is any get together where you can sit and chat and eat and being from the Midwest, I LOVE potlucks.

I kind of lose interest with speakers and magic tricks and musicals. I find the evenings I enjoy most are listening to others fascinating life stories and getting to know them

We are an amazing bunch of people who live here in The Villages, and no one has lived the required five decades without some turmoil and trauma that has softened our edges...and most have picked up a lot of wisdom and humor along the way..

Get all the neighborhood dogs and let them P in any yard.

Get a bunch of old golf balls and practice chip shots into other yards.

Everybody turn on their stereos on loud for an hour.

Invite people from outside TV to party with you.

Put twenty chairs on your driveway and rope them off.

Bring some kids in from Wildwood and let them drive your golf carts.

(Sorry, just had to)

At least your street has some action. I wish our street did at least one of those things.

we always liked the neighborhood orgy run where you find every utility box and knock off a quickie on each one!

You must live in The Village of Mudley. I think I saw a sign in someone's yard there that said; "The wife swapping event was cancelled due to lack of interest."

This was near the intersection of Grinn and Barrett.

Thanks Gracie! That is my idea of a good time too.

I enjoy opening my home to others, but we have quarterly pot lucks on the calendar already, so I need to get a bit creative.

And, no, I'm not considering the suggestions following you well intentioned suggestion.
