Executive courses are all par 3; with some courses having one or two par 4's. If your regular course is a "championship" course in the villages that is a typical 18 hole par 72 course. (There are no dumb questions) usually!

If you are a Villager the executive courses are free but you have to pay for the championship ones.

As said above, most holes on Executives are par 3s. The par 4s usually run about 300 yds from the back tees. The par 3s can be anywhere from 190 yds on in, probably with most in the 130-150 yd area. There are three tees on each hole and some of the front tees have 80 yd holes.
The beauty of TV executive courses is that there is tremendous variety. Personal opinion, but I think the Exec greens are tougher on the whole than those on the adult courses. The layouts are also extremely varied. There are greens that are pretty much unguarded, that you can roll a topped drive almost to the pin. But there are more holes where that damned-able sand trap just reaches up and grabs your ball. And there are a lot of greens that look really inviting, but if you're a tad off, that ball's gonna roll down a real steep hill. A lot of very good golfers with low handicaps on the adult courses look with disdain at the execs. But a lot of other good golfers with even lower adult course handicaps regularly play the execs because they know that's 170 yds or so on in is the most important part of their game and Executive Course play really helps. ![]() `

How old does one have to be to play those adult courses?

You need to read Muncle's random thoughts (another post). He calls them adult courses because they are not really championship courses - more like country club courses - and adult is shorter to spell than championship.
I like playing the championship courses but I have played much harder courses in Jax, Fl. and they were in no way considered championship courses - just golf courses.

My names: execs and regulation.
Golf is a hard game regardless of length. |

Yes, Judy, a tie is required. But the trade-off is pretty good. There's no middle seats, there's much more leg room, the food is infinitely better, and free drinks.

Muncle, you're absolutely right. I forgot about the other perks... especially the free drinks. Maybe the free drinks are why I forgot about the other perks?
