Default Where can i take my extra trash?

I wanted to know if anyone knows where you can drop off extra trash. There are some boxes and trash I don't want to leave outside my driveway especially since all of the break ins lately. I'd like to keep my purchases private from outsiders.

Just flatten and bundle with the labels outside, and tape together. No problem.

Don't know if it is officially ok, can't see why not, but people have been known to use the large trash dumpsters at the rec centers.

I've always undo and flatten all cardboard boxes. Just take a box of a high value item like a TV and turn the box inside out and put with all the other boxes.

It has been noted that this practice is not OK. Just think what would happen if a lot of residents chose to do this.
I see it at our rec center quite often when out for my daily walk. I, being who and what I am, say something. Some say they didn't know, others just turn and shrug and some get really irate and nasty.

I am a firm believer of see something say something....recognizing some amount of flack comes with it.......it does however tend to make a difference.

I forgot to include that since living here we've never had an issue with our trash being picked up including recycle or yard waste.

Cardboard can be taken to the collection bins behind the Sheriff's office at 466 and Morse. Flatten the boxes of course.

I was recently told I could take old paint and such to a facility on Rolling Acres Rd about a mile south of VFW. Open on Tuesdays & Saturdays. Not sure if regular household trash is accepted.

During set up after new construction, we were permitted to use the dumpsters. The was NOT in The Villages. This was in PA and NC. It's a courtesy given by the builder. This wasn't only us, but everyone that had new construction.

It's very possible people putting boxes into a dumpster at the rec center were able to do this in the past. We just signed papers for a new construction house in TV. When we set up there will be items we don't want to advertise are in the house. I now know not to put them in the dumpster and turn them inside out.

This is one of the many reasons I come to TOTV. I learn something of value. Thank you.

There is a citizens drop off area in Sumter County. It's a bit of a drive, about 30 minutes from Lake Sumter Landing. There is a fee charged, but it is a great way to get rid of trash that cannot be put out for normal garbage pick up. It is located at 819 CR 529 Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538. Here is a link to the web page that shows what they accept and the fee's charged.

Without glasses, I first read your posting as "where can I take my extra cash?" I was going to offer to come pick it up.

After 12 years I have net to have anything that would not be picked up in the "normal garbage pick up". If it is too big, give them a call a special pick-up will be arranged.

I've had trash in the past that would normally be sitting around when I have vacated my home prior to to collection day. Not wanting to draw attention that my home was vacant .
It's one of the signs people with less than good intentions look for
My solution was to use a dumpster at one of the many construction sites.

Check with St.Timothy and United Methodist (CR101). I seem to recall one of them has a bin for cardboard. Both are golf cart accessible.
