If you find one please share it. I am surprised with the absence of fresh retail seafood outlets in this area.

Try "The Lighthouse Seafood" on route 466, just east of The Hampton Inn. They're also at Brownwood Farmers Market on Saturdays. Fresh stuff. You can order what you want.

Another vote for Lighthouse. They are also at Spanish Springs Farmers Market on Thursdays.

We have always enjoyed the fresh live lobster from Publix - either to steam at home - or they will cook for you while you finish your shopping. Otherwise enjoy the lobster tails at Lopez, Palmer, Hemingway or Hacienda country clubs. This is not the north east, you cannot expect the same seafood that was available in the north east. How about going to the gulf coast and enjoying some fresh stone crab claws? Or fresh gulf coast shrimp?

I love the lobster night at Glenview cc. Also we buy fresh/frozen lobster tails from Publix's. I rinse them really well though as they are salty. Pull them out of the shell so they are resting on top of the shell, spread on some unsalted butter, sprinkle with paprika, and broil them on high for 8 minutes or so and they are great. Many times you can get the tails for just $5.00 each at Publix.

I do not particularly like lobster, I noticed the price at Walmart around $25 / pound a month ago. We were in Marblehead Ma this summer and you could get it for around $5 /pound. I know prices change but that is a significant difference and it would seem that getting it shipped direct could save you a lot if you are looking at any quantity.

We love to grill tails at home........so I ordered them online. I agree with the other posters, finding seafood here that compares to the North East is difficult but understandable. Our location and demographics also isn't favorable for a fresh seafood market.

As far as Lobster goes we make it down to Boston Lobster Feast every 4 or 5 months. In Orlando on I Drive.
All the whole Lobster you can eat and seafood buffet for about $35 each with a coupon.
I can usually eat 5 or 6. I think the record is like 50 something.
For fresh seafood Shelly's in Homosassa. Take your cooler they give you all the ice you need for free.
We just got back from tonight from the Freezer in Homosassa the best shrimp you will eat anywhere. And it was steak night also. They have a huge Rib Eye cooked out on the charcoal grill with corn on the cob and red potatoes for $15 each.
