Default Welding Instruction

Hello Villagers,

I'm looking for welding instruction for a small project I will be getting myself into over the next year or so. Looking for a local Villager to assist me. Small scale steel tubing and light fabrication. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I can help, what type of welder do you or are planning on getting? At one time I had 4 welders, gas, spot, arc and MIG. Send me a private message and we can discuss further.

Have not heard from you, but a word of caution do NOT use any galvanized pipe or tubing in your project, welding releases a poisonous gas.

Also, you can send a PM by clicking on my name above.

Hey great! I'd love to chat tomorrow - heading to dinner with the boss right now. I'm at 703-906-6525.

I'm fabricating metal tubing and modifying tubing for an airplane project. I know lots about planes but little about welding. I have not bought any equipment yet but will upon finding out what I will need for my fabrication. Would love to show you my project as well.

Many thanks and please let me know your number too. Alex

Alex, sorry, I am not the person to help you, anything to do with an airplane requires expertise way beyond my training, and I have a lot of concern about possible liability. Also, due to weight concerns many airplanes have aluminum components, and I have never joined aluminum parts, this requires a TIG welder and lots of specialized training and experience.

“What could go wrong” villagetinker is spot on 99.99% of the time. The .01% is because everyone is human but I value his assessments

Default I love airplanes

I am assuming that you are referring to "model airplanes" and not the ones that transport earth humans .
In that case, I am happy to help as well.
