Default Why not a Campers Village?

After reading about the RV in the drive way I thought this might solve the problem.

I'm going to put my flame suite on because I know I'm going to get a lot of heat about this, but here it goes.

Why shouldn't TV build an RV Village? They could sell the lots for 50-75K depending on locations/size etc. People with an RV could drive down and stay in their RV on their lot whenever they wanted. There are lots of things to be thought out. Build a wall around it so those that don't like the looks of an RV don't have to see it.

They could park 3 or 4 RVs in the space of one house Small garage for the golf cart.

Ok, here we go.

So, someone who has a million dollar plus Prevost Motor Coach is white trash?

That's an interesting point of view.

No, No, No. That's not my opinion. Hell, I sometimes wished I owned one or had one at my disposal. I'm saying certainly there will be people will say it on here. I just wanted to clarify that.

I think that would be a great idea, kinda like a RV resort.

I've often thought it would be a perfect addition to round-out the types of homes here. Good idea!
I'll put it on the annual survey!

I think RVs are usually parked in driveways when the owners are packing up before a trip or unpacking afterwards. I doubt many are camping out in the driveway.

Recreation Plantation which is on 466 is an RV park so Villages doesn't need to duplicate.

I think the idea is wonderful!!! The Villages has enough "out of the way" areas that would be suited for such an addition. It doesn't have to be big or fancy but a "welcoming" option for visitors to families here. Also an option for people her who have really nice RV's to keep it there as extra room for families when they cmd to is it is they don't have enough room in their house and maybe the family can't afford our hotels. Even visiting RV's I have seen here are really high class. Kudos to the original poster for having an open mind! Of course I doubt it will ever happen.

Would the RV park have enough owners that are willing to pay the monthly amenity fee, trash fee and water? Plus taxes and bond on the property. Not sure, but if so it would seem to be a good idea.

One concern we would all have is the building out of infrastructure. Not just an RV park but as they buy any land and build more houses. It appears, maybe not true, but the golf course, rec center, pools, to house ratio seems to be more dense than it has been in the past. If true, than it will just put more pressure on the exiting facilities. Anyone with more knowledge in this area have better insight then I do?

the return on investment for ANYBODY would not be there.

Other issues...same amenity fees.....absolutely.

Who sets the standards for what type RV is allowed....doe this open a whole can of discrimination worms or what?

Tax these lots the same as other dwellings in TV? why not?

Do they pay the same no matter whether they are present or not?

And where oh where would they put the golf cart?

I learned a long time ago there are no bad ideas. Just ideas that won't work for whatever reason.

This one just does not.

THere is something like what is suggested at the corner of 466 and Rolling Acres Road......

When the IRS takes over the TV and they can not sell the golf courses because the buyer would have to charge for residents to play free golf the IRS will sell the golf courses to be used as campgrounds. Of course camp sites next to water holes would be premium sites.

TV is in the process of expanding into Fruitland Park. This being a new project a campground would blend into the existing amenities.

If someone wanted to make it work I truly believe it could anything is possible. We're not talking a huge area as that I do not think would be cost effective Maybe it would be best for people with RV's and or have family that visit in them weigh in on this rather than someone who may or may not benefit from it. One doesn't know if something would work until they try or at least ask. Just my opinion of course it would make us even a more welcoming community. Trust me though I know it won't happen but I think the original posts was very thoughtful and considerate.

Fruitland Park happens to have some very nice areas if you take time to drive through it and I think TV's would greatly improve upon what is displayed in that picture.
