Default Moffit Cancer Center & American Cancer Society Collaboration!

The Central Florida Health Alliance Moffit Cancer Center celebrates its official opening, Ribbon Cutting and Open House, Thursday, December 8, 2011.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is excited to share in this wonderful event, as the state of the art facility also hosts a community based ACS resource room on-site. The ACS Resource Room will offer information, wigs, prosthesis, hats, scarves and much more.

Debra Trovato, Center Administrator and Carol Hutchison, Tumor Registry manager have also joined the American Cancer Society Unit Operating Board, as well as the Relay For Life of The Villages of Hope Planning Committee.

Hope you will attend the Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Thursday, December 8, 2011.

I am glad to hear that some bridges might be in the process of being mended.

I am not sure I understand. Could you please elaborate? What bridges are going to be mended?

Sorry. I mixed metaphors.

The American Cancer Society and the Moffitt Center were somewhat at odds over the Morses unwillingness to let the ACS use the high school track for the Relay for Life last year as the ACS was unwilling to donate some or part of proceeds to Moffitt Center.

Help everyone. Did I state that fairly?

Good morning Graciegirl,

The Central Florida Health Alliance and Moffit Cancer Center have always had a great relationship with the American Cancer Society. In fact, they sponsored last years Relay For Life of The Villages of Hope as well as provided the survivor dinner at the event in April.

We are excited to expand our relationship with the Community Based Resource Room in the new facility, as well as having great representation on our Unit Operating Board and key leadership on the Relay For Life of The Villages of Hope Planning Committee.

I hope you and others will attend the open house and ribbon cutting on December 8 and join us for the Relay For Life of The Villages of Hope Team Kick off, Monday, December 5! Please help us spread the word and have a great day.
