It is one of the best changes I’ve made to my house.
Soooo much quieter, and if I drive away
from the house and can’t recall
if I closed the door or not,
I can close it from my phone.

I replaced my much hated MVP with the chamberlain B6765. It’s the WiFi with camera 1 1/4 horsepower. Installed it myself.

Love it! The WiFi feature allows me to open/close/monitor/speak and listen to anyone in the vicinity of the camera from anywhere. Camera quality is good. The led lights are super bright. The motor is very quiet.

Easy to install - easy to set up the WiFi.

NOTE - the old mvps use a 120 volt motor to lift the door. Most all new openers use a 12 volt motor. The 12 volts are not as strong.

If u have an oversized door with maybe insulation attached - or other items attached to it - anything less than the 11/4 horse may not properly lift it.

You should never need more in than 1/2 hp if you do the door needs to be fixed. These high power openers are a marketing ploy.I have been in the business for 20 years.

You don't need to buy a new door just to get wifi/app control. But, if you do want to get a new opener, get 1 much bigger than 1/2 horsepower. Later on, if you want to insulate your door, you will burn up a 1/2 hp in no time. Done it, and friends have done it. Chamberlain has a nice 1hp opener with wifi with a backup battery so if the power if off it will still open the door, nice feature.
Back to app control of the door. Thats an easy way to do things but a hassle. What do you do if you have 10 different wifi objects in your house that you want to control: thermostat, door locks, ring doorbell, lights, etc... Do you want to start 10 different applications on your phone to operate them?
You want to build a smart home that combines all smart devices under 1 app and you can control each device thru Siri without touching your phone/iPad/computer. Another benefit is to have this smart home app have "scenes" so you can either say "good night" or schedule the command to close all garage doors if open/lock all doors/turn off all lights if on. You can do this anywhere in the world.
I use apple's HomeKit along with an Apple TV hub and homebridge on my computer. I had control of 2 houses until I sold the last house.

I installed the myQ from Chamberlin and it worked nicely for a while. I successfully used it several times to give entry to contractors while I was up north. Unfortunately, the last time (a month ago, four months after installation) I received an error message when trying to close it after a furniture delivery. Ultimately I was unable to determine whether the door was up or down and had to contact a neighbor to check (it was open). Moral of the story…install a camera to verify door status and know your neighbors because both the WiFi opener or camera could fail.

I installed a Chamberlin model with wifi and backup battery. Have it for about 2 years now.
Works perfectly and the belt drive is quieter than the chain.

Meross wifi garage door opener will operate both garage doors with 1 unit. Good app as well

I have a LiftMaster opener that uses an app called MyQ. The garage opener connects to your home internet and works fine.

I have 2 Nexx Garage door openers. You attach them to an existing door opener. The phone app reminds you if you leave it open. You can open and close them anywhere. I had an issue and opened my garage door for my neighbor from here in Wisconsin. You must set them up on a 2.4 ghz wireless network. Most routers including Xfinity will work on 2.4 Ghz, BUT Xfinity sets them up for 5 Ghz. You need to have them turn on the 2.4 Ghz on the router. It will get a separate name but can use the same password. If you have your own wireless router you need to set that up if not already done. The phone app for Nexx is pretty cool. I have 2 liftmaster openers at my home in Michigan that required the hub and a single unit (now a Chamberlain) on the Village home that was a newer opener that did not need a hub, the hub was built in. They are all on the same APP on my cell phone. (Chamberlain took over for Liftmaster). You can open and close from anywhere in the world, see when they were last opened and closed, see if its open or closed now, they offer camera add on's on the newer units, use it as your garage door opener if needed. After leaving home, do you ever ask yourself "did I close the garage door?"

Adjusting the springs should balance the load.
