Polite
OP, did say “please move your truck”. His reply would have “got my back up” rather quickly.

I don't believe he was so nice. His attitude shows he was most likely an entitled jerk.
We have chosen to live in a highly congested area with little street parking. From time to time parking conflicts will occur. I have found service people to be apologetic if their vehicles are in any way blocking (I live in a new neighborhood, lots of work trucks and deliveries). I tell them not to worry about it, as I am able to maneuver my vehicles around theirs should I need to leave. In any case, I would call 911 if I needed the police. Tell them it's not an emergency. |

That's the best response I've read all day.

A better solution than calling police would be to snap a pic of driveway violation and add name of business and their response to you. That way we all know who NOT to hire in the future. IMHO. I would not hire a person who speaks that way to another villager.

We mover here in 2016 and our house was the first one built on our cul-de-sac.
Several months later, they started building new houses on the cul-de-sac and there were a lot of trucks parked there. When someone parked blocking our driveway, I would tell them to move. Sometimes I would not see them until after they had parked blocking our driveway. I would go around to the houses under construction trying to find who parked in front of our driveway, but no one would admit to doing it. I also called the Warranty Office, but they would not do anything about it. Finally, I called the Wildwood Police and they came out pretty quickly. As soon as the Police car appeared, all of the workers seemed to vanish, except for the worker who had parked their vehicle in front of our driveway. He came out, talked with the Police Officer, and immediately moved his vehicle. After that, no one parked blocking our driveway. |
