Default Winn Dixie Fuel Perks

Decided to see what the WD Fuel Perks was all about and was amazed when I only paid $2.29 a gallon for 15.6 gallons of gas! Total cost $4.69

$.299 per gallon. Still doesn't make sense. I think you get 5 cents off per gallon for every $50 worth of groceries purchased. you must have been feeding an army. Or you bought out their liquor store!

There are many items that give bonus points and points can be collected for up to two months. We recently accumulated 1.28 in 3 weeks shopping for 2 people and not buying anything out of the ordinary.

Yes, but 29 cents a gallon?

Federal tax per gallon of gas is 18.4 cents.
Florida tax per gallon of gas is 28 cents.

That makes 46.4 cents per gallon tax on each gallon.

Can't fathom how you got it for $0.299 a gallon.

I've got a problem with the gas perks deal. I recently picked up a few things ($ 32.00 total), and was told I had $.05 in gas perks. For me, that's a $1.00 gas saving (20 gallon tank) Just for chuckles, I priced the same items at walmart, and they were more than $6.00 less. Even with the gas savings, walmart is much less expensive. I can't believe they suck all these customers in, and then make them run around looking for a participating gas station, and still charge so much more for groceries..

I think you forgot that your signature line says "Avoid Walmart - American by birth, union by choice".

you are correct, but I don't feel badly about buying mostly American grocery items there, when other stores offer "fake" discounts.

And I agree with your premise that the gas perks at Winn Dixie do not come near to offsetting their higher grocery prices.
