Default Winn Dixie vs Publix

The wife wanted to try shopping at Winn Dixie today so we headed over and shopped. We were disappointed in it as we then had to go to Publix for 8 items that Winn Dixie did not have. Leaving the store my wife said, my bad, we will shop at Publix. There is a nice one near our house and it took us 30 minutes to get to Winn Dixie.

It is a matter of location. We are roughly 3 miles from a Winn Dixie or a Publix both by golf cart. Aldis is perhaps 4 miles away but we need to take the car. We do not often go there but we also have a Walmart grocery, that is further away but golf cart accessible. Different strokes for different folks.

I use both. I love a few items I can only get at Publix, but there are some items I buy at Winn Dixie because of price. I don't make special trips, however. I run in when I am in the area.
And there are some things I buy at Walmart.

Publix is way better than Winn Dixie.

I find Winn Dixie less crowded and cheaper.

Haven’t found one grocery that sells everything I need, no matter where I live. Always multi shop for items I use. I hate a store that you need to buy one get one, if I needed two I would just buy 2.

No matter where I live my shopping habits, are Amazon/ Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco, Sams, and the Base.

Most of which comes to my front door. Local is Fresh Market, I may stop into Publix, every couple of months. What little meat we use comes from private farm.
But not everyone needs to shop at the same grocery, or like all the groceries. What they all have in common, they enjoy taking your money.

Krogers delivers to The Villages now....great selections, better price and you set up when you want it brought to your door. I have found it very convenient.

Our son does about 95% of the shopping for us in the stores.
I go to Walmart market occasionally for items I don't get from Amazon or Sam's delivery.

In my opinion Publix is way over priced. Take a look at Publix bakery section no matter which store you go into it is pathetic. Compare the bakery section in Publix to the bakery section in Winn-Dixie or Walmart market it doesn’t even come close to the selection. Publix prices are outrageous for just about everything. For me it’s worth traveling the extra few minutes to Winn-Dixie or Walmart market knowing how much money I’ll save .

For me, it is not a matter of location because I shop at Colony Publix and Walmart Neighborhood Grocery is just on the other side of Morse. Winn Dixie is an equal distance away from my house to the north. My main grocery store is Publix but I'm glad to have the other two grocery stores for items Publix is either out of or does not carry. Then there is always Target on 441 for items the other three do not have at the time. I've always utilized more than one grocery store but The Villages offers four stores in very close proximity to my home.

I agree. In many cases, Publix offers more choices of a specific product than WD does. As one example.......Publix has several flavors of Laughing Cow cheese wedges. WD offers two. Publix offers Boar's Head deli products. WD does not.

Hope you weren’t looking for that golf shirt at Winn-Dixie
