What a boring life that would be.

Yes Publix is overpriced and we shop at Walmart, Sams and Aldi too depending what we need. We're too far away from Winn-Dixie but they have some good sales on meats. The two exceptions at Publix are their brand of ice cream it's still sold in the half-gallon sizes and when on sale 2 for $10 it's even better. Then there's their made to order sandwiches their Italian sub is as good as they come for Florida.

The only grocery store that carried everything for me was Wegmans. Never needed to go anyplace else. Here I go to 3 or 4 and still need to order something I can’t find. And Publix is way overpriced.

Winn Dixie has a great fish special. You select a 5 oz piece of fresh fish and add 11 oz of fresh vegetables to a microwavable bag. All for $6.00.

I shop for price. Always go to Aldi first, then Walmart, then Publix (or Winn Dixie). No store has everything we need so we always shop in the above order and generally save a significant amount.

Does Kroger’s have a physical store or is it just on line ordering and delivery?

Winn Dixie tends to be less expensive. Public does have many items that Winn Dixie hasn’t. Depends on preference. I would not bash Winn Dixie however. I shop Aldis also. Grapes 99 cents lb vs publix 2.99 lb. Everyone has a choice!!!

Agree hard to beat Publix. Might be a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

How affluent we have become. I remember mom going to every store in town to get the sale items.

Most of which comes to my front door. Local is Fresh Market, I may stop into Publix, every couple of months. What little meat we use comes from private farm.
But not everyone needs to shop at the same grocery, or like all the groceries. What they all have in common, they enjoy taking your money.
I agree on the BOGO. I’d rather they sell them 2 for $6.00 (the retail price for one), so I could buy just one at half price.

IMO the bakery goods at Publix are very good and something I would serve to guests. Again, IMO, the bakery goods at Walmart (especially) and Winn-Dixie are crap.

I have been a Publix shopper for 43 years. I just quit Pub's. Since my husband retired and we've moved to TV I've started to notice pricing.
Publix prices are nothing less than price gouging. I buy the BOGO when there is something I can use but a simple item such as a jar of Hellman's mayo is $6.39 (at last visit) at Publix and $4.14 at WalMart grocery. I never thought I'd say it but I'm a WalMartin !

Winn-Dixie for some reason does not seem to be either as friendly or as efficient as Publix. We've encountered some rather rude employees at Winn-Dixie (specifically the one located by Lake Sumter Landing), never at Publix.

Publix is a bit more costly, to be sure. But their overall quality is excellent. My only gripe at Publix is the long lines at the deli counter. I'd say they could do something but speed things up but the employees in back of the counter are already almost bumping into each other.
