Default Wish List Changes?

If you could change anything within TV what would it be? Be reasonable here both in cost and impact to everyone in TV.

Here is a change that I would like to see and that is the hours of entertainment on the squares in the summer months. I would like to see it start at 6:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm say during the months of June, July and August.

Another would be a 60's and 70's night at one of the squares at least once a week featuring the music of the 60's and 70's for the growing boomer set.

And on the wild side of things how about a special Full Moon party once a month on the LSL square on the night of a full moon. This is not my idea as it already takes place in the BVI at a place called Bomba's Surfside Shack (google it for pictures). I have never been to the party but have been to Bomba's and met the man himself. The place gets redecorated after every storm. The parties I have heard are totally wild, last all night and you will want to stay away from the mushroom tea unless you want to relive your youth. Since LSL is patterned after Key West a very tamed down KW style party until 11 or 12 would be a happening thing.

Okay what are your thoughts?

Hawk,

I love all of your ideas. I would also like to see a little variation in the music at the squares. I love R&R and go see them when I am in town, some of the others are too frequent. There is a little R&B group that plays at Urban Flats on Saturday - would love to see them at the square. Would also like some traditional jazz and ballroom bands.

I would also like to see the empty stores occupied. I think the developer could have a sliding scale to attract newcomers and maybe a lower fee for the winter.

I would also like fireworks on the 4th - but probably not the influx of crowds that would go with them. I really miss a lot of the concerts we had in Conn around the 4th that included fireworks, church bells and the 1812 - best was by the coast guard band.

I'd like to see TV send an announcement, perhaps via email, to the people in a neighborhood when a new family buys into that neighborhood. This would include the names of the new people as well as a short bio that the people could write about themselves (where they're from, hobbies, interests, etc.) This would really help neighborhoods to bond and for newbies to get integrated into the neighborhood.

I'd also like to see the regional rec centers equipped with large TVs so that on sports weekends each one could have a different game that was announced in the Sun (college and pro). This would provide a great way for people with a like interest to share the game and some friendly rivalry.

Default Wish list .......

I would like to be a part of the village government who oversees the removal of the architecural committee and the dissolvement and then the rewriting of the "comic book" covenant rules that abound.

I would like to see more of the local Villages talent at the squares instead of the same tired groups that play there constantly.

And mostly, I would like to see them tear down the antiquidated Savannah
Center and build a state of the art performing arts center instead of perhaps one less golf course

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Be a gentleman, remove your hat/cap when entering a building and dining out!

Your first paragraph is an excellent idea. I don't know if they have a suggestion box somewhere, if they do drop it in.

Hawk, love your suggestions, they would be awesome. Like the themed music nights also.
With only being here 3 months and then just basically on weekends, what I would change would be:
1. True gated access. This would not take much, except adding several manned gates from the mian roads in, once in the robo gates are fine, but must have swipe card!

2. Places to eat at the town squares open till at least 10. When the music stops and you have not eaten, your choices are very limited, unless you drive. But then again being new we may have missed some that are open!

3. Add spas to the Rec center pool areas.

In addition to all the great ideas so far I would like to see a bar/restaurant similar to Sloppy Joes or Hogs Breath similar to those in Key West. A place where the doors are wide open with numerous ceiling fans. A place where the hours are 11:00 A.M. to midnight. It would be super casual with good food, decent prices and various bands/singers throughout the day/evening. It would be great if it was built over looking Lake Sumter. I would also like to see (in either or both Squares) a place to purchase newspapers, magazines, cards, pack of gum! I realize there is the Barnes & Nobles, but I mean something on the smaller, quainter side.

MSNPA,

You got me to thinking... one of the things I like least about TV I didn't even mention - and that is the lack of unique restaurants. Most of the restaurants here are chains - with the food coming out of cans, tubs and plastic bags. Being from the east coast we are used to family run establishments where the cooking is "from scratch" and on the premises...

Remove the inside lane of all roundabouts and make it a one lane full circle roundabout. That way we don't have to constantly look over our shoulder to see if someone is going to try and cut in front of us to turn right from the inside lane.

What a fun thread! I love everyone's ideas. We would really love to have the pools open later, and if they would add hot tubs. The suggestion of having food served later in the squares is really a good one, too.

Default 4th of July

The one thing i would love to see is a Fourth of July Parade and fireworks. We have parades for many different events and holidays, but no parade for the 4th of July?
