I saw that monster flying low the other day...it even looked like he had wheels down...I wondered where the pilot was going to land that thing....it was quite a way from the Leesburg airport

Live near Polo Field. Used to helos landing here. Wasn’t the same noise. The noise sounded a lot bigger, a lot more powerful. I could feel that helo thru the house. It was different than normal and I expected to hear/feel a crash or soldiers landing on my roof! Thought I was in a black ops movie!

Default Loud noise

Heard and saw the same in Pine Ridge. I believe they were two V22 Ospreys used mainly by the Marine Corps. Why were they so low and where were they going? Are they’re any real answers?

No retired military acft drivers live in the villages. That eliminates the possibility of a fly by … similar to A-10’s that allegedly flew over same area some time ago. Heard this from a friend.

Funny. So far, according to eyewitness accounts, the noise was caused by:
- Helicopters
- Two V22 Ospreys
- DC-3
- Three fighter jets

Didn't see it from my house but it sounded like the drone of a prop-engine plane so I'm betting on the DC-3 (or similar)

Default Actually three helicopters!

[QUOTE=NotGolfer;2075474]I live off from Odell between Havana and Mallory. About 15 minutes of so ago, a very large/loud noise went, what seemed like directly over our house and very low. It didn't sound quite like a helicopter but if might have been. Does anyone else know what it was? I didn't make it out of my chair or outside to check it out. Man that was scary sounding!!![/QUOTE

Last night at 9pm I watched as three military helicopters flew extremely low and directly over my house in Summerhill. Had to cover my ears the sound was so incredibly loud!

Those Warthogs were loud a few years ago when a squadron of them flew over. An impressive sight, for sure. Very loud and very low. Love to see our military aircraft in operation. Definitely saved our rears in 'Nam more times than can count. Choppers, Puff, Broncos, etc.
