Default Worlds Longest Golf Cart Event

I heard that an event is being held to break the Guinness Record for golf cart caravan. Any details? When, where, how to register?

How Cool! Sounds like a great time for a great cause! I just checked the registration and there are 12 pages of entries - at 30/page (approx.) that is 360 carts already. What is the record?

Not sure if this is the current record but back in 2005, The Villages broke the record then with 3,321 carts. I'm sure this will be broken again!

Ooper:

The event, if I remember correctly and completely, was on the Saturday of the 2005 Labor Day weekend. I participated. I have already signed up for the 2010 version, and am looking forward to it, with great anticipation!

Another example of The Villages' fun!

I'm hoping we can come down for this and participate! We've gotta protect-- and break-- our record.

Was this a success? On my way to the dog park this morning I had to drive by what looked to be over 1000 golf carts waiting to get into the Villages' High School area from Belvedere Blvd.

Some of these golf cart drivers and/or passengers were standing out in the middle of the car lane shooting the breeze while waiting.

Just returned from the golf cart parade. I have never seen so many volunteers and everything was so well organized. Haven't heard how many carts were there, but have to think the old record was broken. Sure hope so anyway.

Texasfal, it is done as a fund raiser for the Hope for the Warriors. Lots of red white and blue.
