Default Very Blue house for sale

I've read a lot about adhering to TV standards, but I saw this house up for sale today - it is in Calumet Grove. Is this color generally OK? If not, I am wondering why it has not been repainted. Any guesses?

....Beauty IS in the eye of the Beholder !!!!
Been to a home close to that one, in the past week.
The house you refer to ..."Looks good"...IMHO
.....Don't know if WE are limited to "PRIMARY" Colors....
.........BUT... that color shows up on the primary chart.

Just an observation..and my opinion,only.

I think that colors add life to a community. When owners individualize a home to his tastes, you end up with a deverse unique community. Nothing is more boring or drab than a community with cookie cutter, white or beige homes. Although blue would not be my color of choice, the home looks great and I'm sure has pleased the owner as he made it his own. Nothing like living in a country where you can express yourself, and live your life, without others deciding for you.

...different strokes,.....every now and then I see one that makes me convinced the owner is color blind.

There are no restrictions on house color except in some villa neighborhoods.

Bogie:

You mean that, when it's time to repaint my house, I can go with what I've always dreamed of: purple with large neon pink polka dots?

Default Blue House

I look at the blue house discussed here from my window. It is indeed a "house of a different color" almost a turquoise (bright). The neighbors can't wait for a new owner with a paint brush to move in. It is a custom Lantana and the owner had some good and not so good ideas when she redesigned the interior layout.
It has a huge master room closet and a walk in pantry, however no lanai. Neighbors often refer to it as the `Easter egg house".

Default Different strokes for different folks

Different strokes for different folks but it seems that this may be an eye sorer. We just got done specking out our home this past week to build in Sanibel and we purposefully went over to our lot to see what the other colors of the homes in our cul de sac were because we liked the color yellow that the builder is offering and wanted to make sure it would go. After looking at the houses, we saw that one house on one side was green and the other one next to us was gold in color. We just couldn't bring ourselves to paint our home yellow as it would have clashed with our neighbors gold color. we chose tan/brown instead. we didn't want everyone looking at our home saying "what were they thinking?"

The blue might not be an ideal color for most but once someone buys the home and paints it they will have a great place. The location looks really nice as well as the photos from inside. You might have the biggest home or the smallest home in the area but inside it' still just 4 walls. It's what you do with it that makes it your own and if you're lucky your neighbors will hopefully approve.

OMG; that is exactly the color I am looking for on our new house.
It should look great and I think Bonifay CC might even use some of that color.
I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I'll bet if happinow had only known before they went with boring brown and tan.
Whew the meds just wore off.
However it might look good in Miami Beach although my neighbor has a Navy Blue house with tan trim so we tell friends visiting for the first time to look for the Blue house and we are next door.
Can't wait to show off my knee high dark socks and dress shoes with shorts...another thread?

There is one similar in style to the blue one on Tierra Del Sol that is Lime Green.

This answers the original question.

And people wonder or complain about architectural/exterior restrictions! This is an example of why those are formed.

As long as the home is clean, safe, and is within current code, why should others judge what color is or is not appropriate. Colors should not be determind by a board. Again, this is nothing more than forcing a groups opinion onto others. There are communities where artist live, and their homes are just vivid with color. My OPINION is that they are refreshing. Others my disagree.

Only thing missing is an old Cadillac with fins parked on the front yard beside a few pink flamingoes. This is one of the reason most people want to live in communities with strong community associations. Neighbors with exotic tastes can lower your property value.
