If I write a post and then someone responds with a reply, how can I set it up that I am going to know when someone responds. I do not get any notification. Am I missing something in my Settings that will notify me when someone replies?

And when you get tired of the chatter.................you can unsubscribe the same way. Seems like some threads go downhill quick and the attacks start, that's when I exit.

Go to UserCP at the top left. Under that, on the left, go to Edit Options. You will see this halfway down the page:

"Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Default Thread Subscription Mode:"

Pull down the menu under Default Thread Subscription Mode and tell it to notify you always of new posts on a thread you've visited. That way you won't have to subscribe to each thread you read.

Some of the emails you will get... If a post is taken down, you will get that post anyway, in an email notification. Kind of interesting.

Also, I noticed that if you visit a post on Political, everyone is ID'd as "Guest." However, if you receive an email notification that someone posted on that thread, the email notification gives the true identity of the "Guest" who posted. I personally think this should be fixed, but it's also kind of interesting, and I rarely visit political forum.

Thanks, CF, I've done that. It'll be interesting to see how often I'm notified. I feel like a complete neophyte and must rely on you "more experienced" posters.
