Default Goodness Happens

I'm moved when good things happen and think they should be shared. Last Friday hubby & I went to Beef O'Brady's in Colony for a favorite hot wings & beer dinner. The line was out to the street. Suddenly 2 seats opened at the bar, no one in line wanted them, so off we went. Sat next to a nice chatty gent, ordered a pitcher & wings, I think twice he asked if our order was coming, waitron said it was, eventually the pitcher emptied, we ordered 2 more glasses as the wings with celery & dressing arrived. We continued to enjoy the evening, ate the wings drank the beer (much more than we needed) asked for the tab & was told, "no, you're good." Laugh, laugh, chat, chat, asked a 2nd time & was told, "no, really, it's on the house, you really waited a long time for your meal." This past w/e we went to The Rialto, watched The Butler & like all comfy dark spaces after a bucket of popcorn, I fell asleep. I woke up to audience mummering, confusion, no voice from the movie & eventually a manager saying they were going to do an intermission & try to get the movie going again. I got up, stretched, went to the restroom, got something to drink, a refill on the popcorn, returned as he was rewinding back to where I fell asleep. As the movie ended, there was an announcement that we were all receiving a free movie pass for the inconvenience. No one that I noticed ever complained about what happened! For me it really wasn't necessary as I didn't miss a thing. Dinner & a movie! Good things happen!

It's nice to hear of good things happening. You have "paid it forward" to me just by sharing! Thanks!

That was awesome!
I have a funny pay it forward story. There is a local hamburger chain called "Milo's" (if you ever see one, try it!). The week of Christmas, it's become a local thing that people in the drive thru pay for the person behind them. One day it went on for 54 cars.
So I pull up to the window, and the cashier says "the car in front of you paid for yours". So I say "then let me pay for the car behind me". Turns out it was a mini-van full of folks and the order was over $30! I had to put away my $20 bill and pull out the debit card. I laughed as I told the cashier "I should have let that van go in front of me!"

Good service and alert management is worth significantly more than most advertising dollars.
