Benjamin Franklin has always been one of my favorite historic figures on many accounts. He was unique in that he signed all three of the major documents that freed the colonies, the Declaration of Independence, The Treaty of Paris, and the United States Constitution.

and agree with anxiety, but I think you're incorrect about general hatefulness. I see wonderful people everyday and it only takes those few rotten apples to make it seem worse than it is. I think the good people are the general rule.
