Orange blossoms, the nail salon when they're putting on someone's acrylic nails, gasoline, sandalwood, garlic bread.

Favorite smell, pikake flower. Unusual smell I liked as a kid was bus exhaust for some reason.

Jergen's Cherry Almond hand lotion. Reminds me of my mom, she always used it.

Fresh pot of sauce simmering on the stove like mom used to make every Sunday also
my father was NYPD and on rough nights he would come home and bake a cake and have a fresh pot of coffee, old stovetop peculator type of pot, sitting and waiting for us all in the morning. Now those are great smells!!! |

Freshly mown grass, salt air, the air after a rain, hyacinth and White Diamonds perfume. And for the men—Lacoste cologne. 😁

Bacon frying. Apple pie in the oven. Fresh squeezed limes.

Bread just out of the oven. Turkey just out of the oven. I agree with the person who said skunk (a whiff). Orange blossoms. The bitterness of marigolds. Good whiskeys. A variety of great cocktails. Burning fat on a grill. I agree with freshly mown grass. Even gasoline mixed with freshly mown grass. Freshly split or cut wood. (Each species has its own smell.) Fallen oak leaves. An evergreen forest. Cookies in the oven. Cooking broccoli or Brussels sprouts. (Joking about those—I love to eat them, but the cooking smell is nasty.) The smell of Madeleine cakes brings the remembrance of things past (most famous insider literary reference for the cognoscenti).

There is a car scent spray called "new car scent" that is supposed to make your car smell like a new car.
The interior of a brand new car has a particular smell to them that is attractive to some folks. |
