New owner of pre-owned home. They left a lot of paint cans, yard chemicals, tools etc that I want to get dump.
Is there a place I can take this type stuff, probably a fee which is fine? Do not want to sneak it in the regular trash. |

Old paint, open the can and let this dry out and then this can be placed with regular trash. As for the chemicals, keep a watch on the Daily Sun, twice a year there are hazardous waste drop off events, I do not recall the last one sorry. If you absolutely need to get rid of this stuff sooner, try calling the Waste Management site and see if there is another location for drop-off, there may be a charge. I think Lake county may have a site for Lake county residents.

At the rate that housing in Sumter County is expanding, I think it is unrealistic of the County to hold "amnesty" events only twice yearly.
They could be held quarterly or once a month OR they could let residents bring hazardous materials to the dump site. Lake County has a site on Rolling Acres for those who can prove Lake Co. residency. |
