Best way to get to Disney and ????
We are planning a visit to Disney. We have never visited.
My wife has mobility issues that can make walking very difficult on some days Looking for suggestions on the best way to travel to Disney .. Would we be better off to drive or Uber or ???? I dont want to risk a long walk in the parking area so if there is a better way please let me know. Also hopefully she will not need a wheel chair but if she does on that day can we reserve one. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated Thanks |

If you have a handicap plac parking is very close to entrance. If she has difficulty walking I would consider renting their electric motility. $70 for the day, transfer to next park, upon returning you get $20 back. They also have wheelchairs to rent. If you are staying overnight there are companies that will deliver a vehicle to your hotel room, but it usually for multi days. Private car each way about $80 plus tip
If you have never been to Disney, it’s big. Our average per day steps (2100 steps in a mile) Magic Kingdom 18,000 Epcot 23,000 Hollywood 13,000 Animal 11,000 When we park hop we can do 28,000 steps Park hopper tickets allow you to change parks at 1pm. We travel to Disney 3 times a month for 2-3 days at a time. We use east to Orlando on the turnpike then to 429, get off at exit 8. Then follow signs to where you want to go

We dont have a handicapped placard for the car as her problem comes and goes ...I am just planning for the worse case scenario and want her to have an enjoyable day Starting off with a long walk from the parking lot on a hot day when she has problems walking THAT DAY would not be a good start. which private car company would you recommend ??? Again Much Thanks as we appreciate your insight and thoughts |

You can drop her off at the entrance and then go park. I would definitely rent a wheelchair and you push her around. The chair rental kiosk is right at the entrance. When she feels like walking, she can walk. This is how I worked things out with my mother when she had trouble walking (sometimes). I do want to say that they treat you very, very nice when you are in a wheelchair and our party of 3 was ushered to the front of every line.

I use Elite Transportation, a man named George is a driver. |

Beach traffic (people coming home from the Carolina and VA beaches) can be an issue later in the day on Saturday and Sunday... In both cases, timing is everything... Just take the Eastern route around the Beltway (not towards Tyson's Corner) and pick up 95 towards Baltimore... AFA as NYC goes... May the Lord have mercy on your soul...
