Default Car parking

Is it within the rules to permanently park an automobile in the driveway?

Permanent as in on cinder blocks or not use the garage, and keep the car in the driveway?

If not use garage and keep the car in the driveway, that’s fine

Where else would they park it? Most people got garage full of junk and have no other place to park it. Myself I would be thankful they didn’t park it in front of my house.

You can park a car on drive with a large white cross on the roof though.

There are some over 55 communities that do not allow driveway parking so your question is a good one for someone looking for a new home.

Agree about the white crosses. Very plain. Yellow, green, pink or sky blue. Polka-dot, rainbow or change theme with the season. Much more interesting, imho.

Agree. Before I found a house here, I found a neighborhood that did not allow overnight parking in driveways. I immediately crossed them off of my list, even though some of the houses were lovely. Where would guests park? A few miles away?

Interesting little deed restriction tidbit. The only person authorized to park in front of your house is yourself. Anyone else is in violation.

We have 3 cars and a cart in a 2.5 garage house so we are always in the driveway. There are limits in some areas as to the SIZE of the vehicle - commercial vehicles, RVs - even large passenger trucks.

Not exactly. Deed restrictions vary depending on where you live. In courtyard villas, homeowners cannot park on the street at all. Only visitors are allowed to park on the street. In most other areas, the street is a county road. Deed restrictions have no authority to control who parks on a county road because it is not the homeowner's property.
