You can park on public streets in the Villages except in Wildwood. They will tag your car if left overnight

Note that the streets in the courtyard villa sections are private roads owned and maintained by The Villages. They are not controlled by the City of Wildwood. This is according to The Villages Property Management Department.

The rules are unique to your CDD district, to some specific areas (like villas), and to some specific town districts. In CDD6, where I live, the covenants say:
"No trucks in excess of 3/4 ton size, boats, or recreational vehicles shall be parked, stored, or otherwise remain on any Homesite or street, except for (a) service vehicles located thereon on a temporary basis while performing a service for a resident or (b) vehicles fully enclosed in garages located on the Homesite. No vehicles incapable of operation shall be stored on any Homesite nor shall any junk vehicles or equipment be kept on any Homesite." So here, parking on the driveway is perfectly okay. Even parking on the street is okay. Just so long as your vehicle is a normal car or light truck. Your price likely varies. |

I lived in a deed restricted community in Tampa that required cars be kept in the garage and not parked in the driveway. The reason was that they didn't want the neighborhood to look like a parking lot. With homes so close together here, I can see how that might happen if everyone parked in the driveway.

In the street is what they do Kingstree Place. We have to zig zag down the street.

Our house has a 1-golf-cart garage, no car garage at all, and a covered carport.
We don't have any vehicles in the garage, that's where we keep the lawnmower and repair bench. A car, a double-cab pickup truck, and two golf carts. The car is out in the driveway when not in use, and the other three vehicles fit neatly under the carport. |
