Default Car Rentals in the Villages

Hi: We will be visiting in November and would like to rent a car from a place in the Villages, preferrably the closest to Brownwood Square area. Thank you for your time.

You're best off to rent a car at the airport if you're flying in. There's an Enterprise at Lake Sumter Landing. Otherwise, the closest car rental location is Budget in Leesburg.

There's plenty of golf car rentals in and around the villages.

Enterprise, lake sumpter landing. Used many times. If you are picking up in the morning, make sure you get there before they open as the line gets long and choice of car becomes limited

The fees you pay from the airport are outrageous. One can take shuttle and rent a car from enterprise for half

Call Enterprise ahead of time, and make the reservation at the Lake Sumter (no P) landing, they are the closest as far as I know.

We always rented in advance at airport. Orlando mainly, odd occasions Tampa.
Rent on or off airport, plenty of courtesy busses to take you to rental locations.
Found the airport a lot cheaper than Enterprise in The Villages.

If you are flying in, get quotes from airport and from from off airport. Getting from airport to villages by van is $80 per person roundtrip so calculate that into the price.

I’m not sure the price difference but Orlando airport is one of the easiest car rentals. All of them are on property at MCO so you don’t have to shuttle. As others have said, there isn’t one close to Brownwood. Leesburg will be the closest or Lake Sumter Landing but would probably cost more than Leesburg.

I agree. Enterprise at Sumter Landing is the closest. But they have limited hours and are not open on Sunday. After hours drop off not an option.

Go to CheapTickets.com and rent in advance from enterprise in lake Sumter or hertz in Spanish. If you have a Costco card rent from budget in leesburg. But if you are flying in rent and return at the airport. And again use the same websites

Turo is similar to Uber. Hundreds of people in The Villages offer to rent their car directly to those looking for a car. It’s typically less expensive, almost always friendlier, and easy to do. Default I second Turo

I’ve had great experience with Turo. Usually cheaper, you get exactly the car you want (maybe reserve same car you have at home), and easy to deal with.
