Start with the kids drinking too much , the 3 block speeding motorcycle ride, and a young female thrown into a tree and killed. Anything else your friend wants to know, Google it.

that's good because it's where the young people go. she'd have the best chance of finding friends there

Appreciate it. Sounds like any number of college bars back in the day.

Also; she might try Daytona or New Smyrna Beaches. LOTS of people her age there.

Sports pools are restricted to residents only, 30 years old or older. So no water sports for her.

Our son came with us in August to DeLuna, works from home, goes to the gym, weekends doing things with us. Takes time to meet people when work takes up a lot of your time. Will buy his own house and get friends once that happens. No pressure from us.

Just keep her away from downtown Orlando at night, not a safe place these days.

Kind of wondering where this is attempting to go. I would not recommend the bar scene to anyone, especially young adults. This is a senior age community, not a vacation resort....just saying. However, there are organized sports at several rec centers. If they hang out at pickleball when it's open to all levels, they WILL get asked if they would like to play. I am sure there are other areas of sports in the Villages that will welcome anyone visiting. Hang out with young folks their own age? Like I said, this IS a senior community so if they wish to integrate with older folks, most of us welcome their VISIT as a guest.
Personally, and not trying to change the subject, I wish they had rules they would enforce regarding rentals here. I would like them to make limitations on ages allowed to rent homes in the Villages. Some folks (young and otherwise) seem to think renting in the Villages is better than paying for a stay at a resort.

She hangs with the family but she really enjoys associating with people her own age too. This was by her request. Thanks for your response.

If she's under 21, then any suggestions for bar scenes is a moot point since the drinking age in Florida is 21.

There really isn't any place where teenagers congregate /in/ the Villages, because there aren't any teenagers living /in/ the Villages. There are no amenities designed with teenagers in mind; the family pools are designed for all ages, without special consideration to teens/college age kids (no diving board, no kiddie pool to keep the diaper aged kids separated, etc).

There are some teen centers outside the Villages but they are for residents of the towns, not for grandkids of Villagers coming in for a week break from elsewhere.

The Facebook group might be of help, but proceed with caution, because Villagers aren't the only people who know about these groups and predators are everywhere.

This thread's topic and many of the responses don’t make a lot of sense.
Visiting children and grand children come here to be with family if the wanted to hang with/associate with their own age the would have gone to one of the beach towns.
To suggest to this daughter she go to a bar is ludicrous……
Like I said earlier, looking forward to the responses, they were as I expected.
