Hello Collier residents (Collierites?)

I have started a TOTV group called CollierTOTV - creativity is not my long suit. The purpose is for Collierites to learn about their neighbors and have a means to communicate for planning any events.

I also have started a spreadsheet for anyone who wants to post information about themselves.

I will post the spreadsheet on rapidshare and give access credentials to everyone on the list (all 6 of us, so far). I will wait for a week or so before doing this. In the mean time please let me know if there is any information you want deleted. Although I am trying to keep access controlled, some may not want some of their information posted.

Let me know if you want to join the group or have your name added to the list. I made it invite only. I am not sure why other than to try to keep our group focused - this can be changed.

We have 8 families of the list with 2 more pending, so we are making some progress. I have posted the information list. For those already on the list, go to or join the group CollierTOTV and check my message to learn how to access the list.

For those not yet on the list and wanting to join, please send me a PM with an email address and I will send you the sheet to fill in your information and then send you an invite to the group.

Thanks Don for setting this discussion forum Collier Group and Lists for us "Collierites".

FYI Solicitor: We received a solicitation call from a water purification company.

Background: We mailed a postcard that was left on our door (another mailed to our address too) for a $25 coupon dinner at the Evans Prairie Country Club. We filled out the postcard offer and mailed it in thinking that was constant with the friendly villages atmosphere... That was the hook to get them in the door to sell you their water system. You listen to the pitch, and you get the coupon. We declined the offer.

We are becoming increasingly more aware of all the solicitations since closing on our home in Collier.

BTW: We had the builder's plumbing contractor install a generic whole house water filtration system consisting of two cartridges mounted on the wall above the water shut off valve (see pic). We may still install a water softner at later date.

Looking forward to meeting all our new neighbors, getting mail delivered to our mailbox and the opening of the Collier Swimming Pool.

Hi Don,
We closed on our new home on Eisenhower Way, last week. In the process of selling our home in south Florida. Hopefully, move into TV this fall/winter. We would be interested in joining your TOTV Collier group.

Dave and I would love to join this group. We are here at TV now and go back to PA on Sunday, then will be down again Oct. 23rd for closing and expect to move in right after Thanksgiving. I just bought a house in Collier. Will be down in December for a visit for a week, but will not move in until January 2015, looking to rent if any interest. 3bed/3bath Designer home. Christina

Love this site and the idea of Collierites!!

We are almost certain we will be purchasing a home on Eisenhower Way. have rented here for Jan/Feb for 5 years and are ready to make this permanent. When we do, I will check back in to update.

Hi, I closed on my house on Kananwood Terrace in late September. However, will have to rent it for another year when I retire at 65. Looking forward to living and playing in The Villages. Christina

I've begun publishing an email newsletter for our Collier neighbors. The publication is called The Collierites News and it is emailed to all Collier neighbors who sign up to receive it.

I don't advertise anything and I don't sell anything. More importantly, I won't give, sell or authorize the use of any of the email list I've compiled to any person or business. The email list is just a way to distribute The Collierites News .

If you have not signed up and would like to receive The Collierites News send an email to TheCollierites@comcast.net and your name, Collier address and email address and I will add to the roster. If you wish, you may include your phone numbers and areas of interest or any special skills that you'd be willing to share and I'll forward that information to Kristin Miller.
