Don't know if I'm really posting, but here it goes..............I'm 59 retired and will be staying for 2 weeks, at The Villages cabanas for 6 days and the other days at the Days Inn. I really don't want to ask The Villages Company, since they will give their restrictive answers. Looking for info on the bonds, buy new or used, good restaurants, good nightlife (bars, food, and especially dancing.)
Is there is kareoke ? I don't mind looking like a fool. Since I'm divorced / single where can I meet ladies of course, I'm 59 and the Duracell batteries are still working. All responses would helpful. I did buy a $5 map to help. Also looking for grocery store, and liquor store of course. Any single or blended scotch drinkers will always be welcomed. Still 2 for 1. Dave Can give phone number if need. |

Dave,
Check out the Singles forum of TOTV. There may be info. on activities for singles during the time you are in TV. There are several singles groups in The Villages, and a TV single resident will hopefully post more info. on the singles groups. As a previous poster said, buy a copy of The Daily Sun while you are in TV. In the Daily Sun there will be lists of open houses daily for both new and pre-owned homes. I would go to as many open houses are you are inclinded to visit to see what is out there in the new and resale home market. Drive the golf cart around. If you get lost, pull over to the side and start studying the map. Within a few minutes, someone will stop by to ask if you need directions. Don't hesitate to ask people in the squares, stores and restaurants about how they like living in TV. Most people are very happy to answer questions about TV. Hope your visit goes well! ![]() |

You made it -- you're posting! As for resturaunts here is the definitive website of the gourmet club. http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/page1.html
There are dozens of threads on new vs. used homes, use the search feature to find some. The bond is added to the home price to pay for infrastructure. Rather than borrow from a lender to build infrastructure, and add to the home price, the CDD structure allows the developer to finance the improvements through bonds and charge back on a pro-rata basis to the buyer. This helps keep the home prices (appear to be) lower. The bond may be paid off or paid down significantly on existing homes. The bond on new homes in the $200,000 range is about $25,000 or so. As for karaoke, one place is the lounge attached to the bowling alley just off Spanish Springs town square. A note; the Villages is FULL of very good singers.
