Default Lake County - want to retire to TV and asking about bonds

I want to retire to the Villages at the end of this year and am looking for a place to live. As I understand it, Lake County has no BOND. Are there other places with no BOND. How do I find a list of properties with no Bond or bond paid ? Does Lake County have CDD's ?

The Fruitland Park village is in Lake County and will be a CDD. Lady Lake village is in Lake County and not a CDD. It depends on what area of Lake County is in The Villages. The so called Historical side of TV does not have a CDD bond.

Keep an eye out for the new homes being built by the developer on the historic side, could be the best of all worlds. No bond, mature landscaping, low traffic, near everything. The wild card is... what will the prices be?

There are homes for sale all over the Villages where the homeowner has paid off the bond.

As I understand it the costs normally part of the bond elsewhere in the villages, will be included in the house cost in the new Fruitland Park area, so expect higher prices there. I agree with above comments. We just included the bond with the monthly mortgage.

For a list of the pre-owned homes for sale through The Villages, go to
The Villages web site. Choose search homes. In the keyword search type in Bond Paid. You should get a listing of properties with the bond paid. You can check this by looking near the bottom of the list of features on each property page. I haven't checked this extensively, but the four or five I checked to be sure the bond was paid checked out.
