Default First TV Visit

My wife and I have heard many wonderful things about TV, and are finally going to see for ourselves how great it really is. We are visiting in early November, and hope to experience as much of the lifestyle as we can possibly squeeze into a week. Although it will be a couple of years before we can actually consider relocating (I am retired, but my wife is not.....yet!!), we wanted to do our due diligence, and scout out the area before we started making any real plans. We would welcome any suggestions for activities that would give us as complete a TV experience as possible. I have heard that only one "scouting visit" is permitted......is that true? If so, are there other ways to schedule additional visits before deciding to purchase a home? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!

We are looking forward to our visit, and to possibly meeting some new friends while we are there.

After our initial "Lifestyle" stay at TV my wife and I rented for one month the next two years at different villages within TV. We felt that helped expose us to a lot of different areas and was very helpful when we bought our house during our second rental year! Give that a try next year.

Bbest:

to TOTV.

For due diligence, read the "Nuts and Bolts" section as it is chock full of information.

I believe one is allowed more than one LSV but the perks after the first one are not as plentiful. Some members may want to provide updated information as I haven't checked this out for a while.

Some people have stayed at the hotels in TV, (Waterfront Inn or the Marriot in Spanish Springs). The Marriot is a short walking distance to the square in Spanish Springs.

Another option is to rent a home for a month and explore TV.

I know you will love TV.

Bbest, Welcome to TOTV. Here are some recommendations from a TV wannabee:

1. Take the trolley tour from the TV sales office in Lake Sumter Landing. It takes about 45 minutes, and it is narrated by a TV resident.
2. Go to the squares at Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs. There is live entertainment at each one from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Dancing too!
3. Buy a Daily Sun newspaper. Go to some open houses (both new and preowned houses) if any strike your fancy. There are open houses 7 days a week in The Villages.
4. If you like TV after your visit in November, consider renting for a week(s) or a month. After March, it is not difficult to get a monthly or even a weekly rental in TV.
6. Ask questions of residents while you are here. Most are happy to talk about TV and answer questions.

Enjoy your visit! Let us know what you think of TV.
