Default Couple of Villages Wannabees

Hello, we are considering renting and possibly purchasing a home in The Villages. We currently own two homes in PA, however, we are considering the sale of one home so that we could spend some time @ The Villages. We visited for several days the first week of May...stayed @ The Waterfront. We are currently waiting for a call regarding dates to participate in the Lifestyles Program. Participating in that program will hopefully help us decide the general area that we would like to rent or purchase in. We look forward to a time that we can spend more than just a couple days @ The Villages. Until then...we are here in PA.

Thanks to all those who take the time to write on and manage this site as we have found it to be very helpful in gaining knowledge regarding The Villages.

Default Welcome

enjoy your visit,, your doing the correct way,,, you can rent from private owners,, save yourself some big time $$... the best advice i would give you is DO YOUR HOMEWORK,,, dont let the Disney Dust get in your eyes,, there are MANY homes here for sale, Not all them are upgrades, some folks make it bout 3 years and bail out,, or die,,, when you get this many old people together some will start dying, kinda like a casino with house odds,, You will find one to suit your needs....Just dont drink the koolade right out the gate,,, explore explore explore!

Default From a long term wannabee

Gingersnap, Hello and welcome to TOTV from a long term wannabee. This is the place to read and ask questions about moving to and living in The Villages (TV). If and when you decide you want to rent in TV, a good rental web site is The Villages 4 Rent, Rentals in The Villages. I have rented homes in three different villages through this web site. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the advice! We are visiting the first part of September! Looking forward to it, but hoping "Isaac" doesn't raise havoc with our travel plans.

Gingersnap,

Welcome to TOTV! You've already received some great advice. To add on, if you consider buying a resale home in TV, be sure to use both a Villages sales agent and an MLS Realtor, as they don't share listings.

Can't wait to hear about your next trip down.

We live in Mansfield...home of my former employer MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY. I retired in 2004 with 34 yrs of service! Mansfield is in Tioga County...where the gas well drillers and rigs have moved in to. We are about 30 miles from the NY state line (Corning).

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! We can't wait to spend some time @ TV.
