Default Golf Leagues

My husband and I will spend two months in TV next winter with thoughts of moving. My question: I'm from DC area and play in leagues and Virginia State tournaments. I'm a rules official and a course rater, too. What kind of golf program is there for league or competitive golf (for women for me, for men for my husband). We don't particularly like playing full time with one another as our handicaps are different and we squabble. Will there be any opportunity to play with groups when we rent this winter? When/if we move full time?

The best thing you can do is to sign up for Ladies and Men's days. You are bound to meet very friendly people with whom you will want to make play dates with. You are going to love the villages.

Lots of info at www.golfthevillages.com

Might have to cut and paste or retype the web site as it might not go through from totv.

Hope this helps

You will have to copy and paste the above address into your URL window. Unfortunately, The Villages still has, for whatever reason, a block from Talk of The Villages to any of its websites. We're just trying to be good neighbors here.

I'm thinking you have to be a Priority Member to do Men's and Women's days. The mimimum on that is 6 months.

If you choose not to become priority member(we did because we played enough to make it worthwhile) you still will meet nice people by being paired up with them at random. You will undoubtably find people looking for some one to round out a foursome on other days.

Believe you are right. Have to be a priority member for mens/ladies days at the championship course as well as couples events scheduled at championship courses. Not applicable for executive mens/ladies days.

Minimum priority is for 6 months and you need to be a priority member of the course where you will be playing mens/ladies day. Priority rates are less expensive if you pick 2 versus all courses to be a priority member.

In addition to being a priority member I believe you also need to have a current handicap to participate in Mens and Ladies days.
