Default Interim lawn care

Our escrow closes before we will be able to arrive there. Does anyone know what to do about lawn care in the interim? Does the Villages automatically stop doing it when escrow closes?

TV will stop.

Good news................it's growing very slow.
You are fine for a couple weeks, maybe four.

As much as I disagree with the forum wit I agree with his/her assessment 100%. The lawns will start their winter chlorophyll redistribution/hybernation.

The forum wit. Is that a compliment?

OP, you will need to hire a lawn care company. Now having stated that, you may want to hire a home watch and then have them take care of the lawn, etc. Sorry I have no recommendations for the home watch.

I use The Villages Empty Nest program when I am away. Have always been very happy with their service.

Homeowners hire their own lawn care people; in a pinch Deans or Masseys will give you the services you need - not the best at mowing or edging as they subcontract out. When you are here, talk to your neighbors to find out who they use and get the names a few companies as several are booked up and can’t take on new work.

Good lawn care is one of the hardest to get in TV but if they are already there to do your neighbor’s lawn maybe they’ll add you too. When I bought my house I asked who was doing the lawn from the real estate agent, then asked that company to continue, initially.

No need to hire a watch group if you are away only a couple of weeks.

My Opinion.................I think most watcher do not mow.

Thanks everyone. Good information. We plan to be permanent residents. Might not be any neighbors yet, brand new street in Hammock at Fenny. The good news is that we shouldn't be more than three weeks behind escrow, so if the growth has slowed down I should be OK.
