Smile Greetings from Lacey, WA!!

We will be in The Villages in three weeks to spend our first winter there. We puchased a cottage home in Sanibel in April. I have hired a few people based on TOTV comments. This site is great! It is getting a little chilly in the mornings out here in Washington state but we haven't had rain in a few months. Rain is the main reason we want to be in a sunny warm place in the winters. We are driving out and visiting relatives in PA and VA on the way, so it will be a looong trip! Keep that sun shining for us!

Any other Washingtonians down there??

friendliest hometown? Hmmm..".....?... I posted this introductory message last night. 26 people have viewed it but I didn't get even one 'welcome'? Do we have to be from Michigan, Ohio, or New York?? I was born in Brooklyn!

I did ask if there were any other Washingtonians down there but I didn't intend to exclude everyone else. Maybe my wording was bad.

We are moving from Woodway, in between Edmonds and Richmond Beach in Shoreline, driving across country leaving the first weekend in November. We bought a villa at the Haciendas of Mission Hills at 466 and Morse Blvd over the Morse St Bridge.

We are still here in Seattle....do I see Happy Hour in our immediate future? How fun. Last year I said I would start a Washington State Club when I got there. There are others as well in TV, my husband played golf with someone in August from Mill Creek.

Are you using Wheaton for your movers? They are based around Olympia and moved the governor. They are moving us too! Do you work for government?

Grest to hear from you and would love to meet you both.

We are going to be snowbirds, so are not using a moving company. We have grandkids up here and also in VA. We are going to enjoy the three mos. of WA summer while it is raining in the Villages.

We are retired although I used to work for the state and my husband for the feds.

We've also lived a few other places: Brooklyn, NY, Kingston, PA, Haledon, NJ and Kansas City, MO before spending the last 33 years in WA.

Can't wait for the warm, sunny Florida weather.

We have lived in the villages for 9 years. Before that, 30 yrs in Bellingham, WA. Let us know if you start a club for Washington people. There is a club here now that includes states west of the Mississippi. We have gone a couple of times but didn't go back.

Lacey, when I first read your post I thought you were looking specifically for those people from Washington state to reply. I just thought I would welcome you anyways and did not see this second post as we posted close in time. But I do think it may have been a bit confusing to some. I think I am the only non-Washington person to reply? The TOTV forum is a great place to meet people and garner lots of information both pre and post visit! I know once you get here you will feel most welcome and people are very eager to answer questions and get to know you.

I thought she only wanted response from WA.

Again, I hearty to TOTV.

Keep on posting.
