We're currently planning our move to The Villages, Florida, with just about a year to go — and the countdown is on! 🎉 We've been learning as much as we can about the area, the lifestyle, and all the fun things happening, and this forum has already been such a helpful and welcoming place.

Our visit was in April 2025 and stayed in Richmond, and after drinking the pitcher of Kool-aid we are back in July.

Thanks again
Hello and welcome!

Also as a villager on our third home, don’t worry if you buy too small & then buy bigger! Pre owned homes are nice & have had many alterations - solar tubes, pull out drawers in pantry, etc. Would love to meet you!

Those videos are great. But, you will find that July, August, and September are VERY HOT. If you can be snowbirds and maintain 2 HOMES, then that will work out fine. If you want only one home then, I would advise you to pick Georgia or the Carolinas. Florida summers are WAY too hot. And if you look at the weather scientists, they say each succeeding year will be HOTTER.

Welcome.
Some of us like the slower pace.
"a little warmer" .....that would be a master understatement. There have already been several 100 degree days, counting the "feels line" temperature.

I have found that after awhile, the pitcher of Kool-Aid seems that it was served by Jim Jones.
