I am new to the Villages, having moved in a week ago. I've signed up for a AAA bus trip which leaves tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 6. It leaves from "the Spanish Springs" area. The person giving me directions was rather vague and I still have no idea where to go. I asked for an address, for my GPS and she said there is no address. Short of driving over there today to see if I can find it, can anyone give me directions to the AAA pick-up point in Spanish Springs. I live in the Village of Pennecamp and am near Buena Vista Blvd.
Thank you |

You should call AAA and ask someone where you are supposed to go. If you are leaving from the AAA Office, they are actually on 441.

take buena vista to rt 466 and make a right turn onto 466; go straight to morse blvd and make a left at traffic light onto morse blvd; follow to exit by guard shack, stay all the way to the right and make a right turn onto paige pl; stay on paige pl all the way into spanish springs square where you can turn left onto main st and then right onto bichara blvd to the aaa office. if your bus leaves from some other site, you will need to find that out from someone at the office.

Have you been to the Belks Dept Store in the shopping center on the Bichara Blvd or to Applebees on Hwy 441/27? I only know of one Applebees in the area, you could put that in your GPS or select Points of Interest and search restaurants. Without giving you a bunch of instructions, it's easier to find a place that you've been to. If you're on Hwy 441/27 in front of the shopping center that has Belks or the Applebees in front, the AAA Office is in the bulding located next to what looks like an old time train depot. To the right of Belks is a Publix, further right is Beacon Optical and Perrys Entry Point Front Door shop, the freestanding building to the right of that is the AAA Office with the outdoor roof covered waiting area that looks like a train station.

The bus stop/train station is not near the AAA office -- that is further down and a few buildings after Applebee's. The bus stop is in the parking lot behind Panera's and before Applebee's (coming from Spanish Springs). From what I've seen, most buses pick up and drop off at the bus stop. Call AAA to find out for sure.

Many thanks to all who responded for my plea for help. I took your suggestions and ran with them. I did call AAA for additional help, and lo and behold, the pick up station is Behind Panera Bread. Now, that would have been so much easier than the vague reference points I was given by my initial contact AAA person. Again, thank you. I really believe this is going to be a fun place to live...............so many helpful people!
