Smile Hello from Western Massachusetts

We currently live in Southampton, MA.
We have a strong desire to relocate to a red state (not caught up in politics, but just tired of the same old stuff happening here over and over again).
We're comming down for a 5 day LSV on April 17.
Any suggestions on what NOT to miss or things you HAVE to do during a first LSV would be much appreciated.

Thank You All in Advance

What is a red state? I am guessing predominantly Republican?

You must take the trolley ride. It is different each time I am told. You might want to take it twice. Go south of 466A and see all the new construction. Check out both squares; Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs. Go to several rec centers and include a couple regional ones too. They are all decorated beautifully and they are all different. Watch the sunset from Morse Bridge. Go to Cane Garden for dinner. Stop by our house for a drink.

Welcome. You will not believe what you are seeing and experiencing. You will be got, overwhelmed, delighted and in love.

And don't forget to have a Kool refreshing drink somewhere.....drink every drop.

I guarantee you will be back.

We live two towns over from you in West Springfield! We bought a house in TV 2 years ago and currently have our MA house on the market. We're hoping to move full time to TV in Jan. 2013 or 2014 at the latest. We have other Western MA friends that have moved down there or own and visit as they can. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk or just have questions.

The Red State we're looking to retire in, (In my Mind), would not be predominatly Republican or Democrat. We would hope its residents would be more independent and into doing what's right for all of us in the USA!

You realize of course that every soul I have ever listened to on that subject thinks his/her party affiliation is doing just that.

Believe me, Gracie. Massachusetts is not predominantly Republican. Rather. like most Northeast states, it is predominantly Democratic state. Scott Brown who won the Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy was the first Republican to be sent to Congress in a long, long time. Mass is a most liberal commonwealth.

Your advice as to what to do is right on target. We did those things and have been living happily here since October.
