Hello,
My wife and I are currently getting our house ready to put on the market in upstate NY and hope to be in the the Villages this fall. I am new to this forum and wanted to introduce my self. My name is Vito. My hobbies are cooking, gardening, and fishing. I am an avid fig tree fan and hope I can at least have a few of my favorites in the Villages. While I love all forms of fishing, I very much enjoy fly fishing. My wife says that I will be "gator bait" .

We visited in Feb and found the Villages to be such a vibrant community. Any advice for me?

Welcome Vito!
We're from Clifton Park and spend 8 months in The Villages...
Make sure you join the Saratoga Club...a great bunch of people!
Sounds like you have some great hobbies, but I'll bet you'll find even more down here!

Welcome, Vito. I hope your house sale goes quickly. Start looking at house plans on the Villages web site. Finding a floor plan that appeals to you will give you a start when you house hunt. Hope to see you at TOTV's monthly meet-up at Crispers restaurant soon.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I have to say it is a challenge to make such a major change but when were visited we loved the place.

Ugotme- I see you were in Brooklyn at one time. Me, too! I lived in Canarsie about a million years ago ( the 60's). I understand there is a large NY contingent the in the Villages. After only three weeks you are probably still unpacking! Congratulations

Vito, Another welcome to TOTV. If you keep reading and posting questions on this forum, you will get a lot of information about moving to and living in The Villages. Best of luck to you in selling your home in NY.

Welcome to The Villages Vito. I'm a fellow New Yorker too - downstate Long Islander. I'm at almost 4 weeks and so far so good. Hope your house sells easily for you and that you can come on down soon. All the best.
