Newbie questions
Hi everyone, my wife and I hope to be joining you all in the not-to-distant future and I have a few questions. We will probably be snowbirds for a while so are courtyard villas the best option? (low maintenance) I'm torn between a 2 or 3 bedroom home because of visitors (we have 4 kids and one grandchild). Has anyone bought a 3 bedroom home and found that the third br. was rarely used. I am in a fife and drum corps and I was wondering if there were any others that were or are involved in f & D.
Thanks in advance!

What is best for you depends on your lifestyle, how many visitors you will be having, how much stuff you want to store in your garage, etc. It's a very personal decision. Once you get to TV and start looking at properties with agents, it will probably become crystal clear which option is best for you. Over the years your needs will probably change, and then you'll become one of the statistics .... the "average" villager supposedly moves three times.

we have a 2 bdrm patio villa as seasonal, but when full time and more visitors, we'll likely get a 3bedroom...
but whatever fits your budget and needs, with a house, well, I don't want a lot of grass nor cost/taxes anyway. |

We also have a Patio Villa 2/BR 2/Bath, and for the occasional visitors that we get, it has plenty of room. We also have several friends that started with a 3 bedroom but later "downsized" to a 2/BR because they didn't use the 3rd bedroom that much, and the 2/BR was easier to keep up and clean.
Having said that, it's quite a personal preference. If you anticipate having a lot of visitors, you might suggest that they first check out the Lifestyle Preview option. Then if they want to stay longer at a later date, monthly rentals are available. That way you get to visit with your friends without having to provide a place for them to stay. |

We downsized from West Palm Beach to the Villages in 2003. We now have three bedrooms, one is "The Guest Room" the third has a closet and a pull out sofa, to accomodate Son and his wife and Daughter and husband. When we don't need the third bedroom for guests, I have compter TV etc and very comfortable. Lots of room to accomodate all. The four grandkids sleep on Aero beds. They love to come to G'ma's and G'pa's it's like camping out .
When the four grankids get too old for the Aero beds there are many good hotels nearby for the Mama's and the Papa's we'll keep the kids |
