Default Anyone used Villages Relocation services?

Just wondering if anyone has used The Villages Relocation services? This would be with regard to contacting real estate agents in your hometown to give you a market analysis of your home and to also possibly sell your home. We recently came back from our second trip to The Villages but wasn't successful in finding a lot that would meet our wishes for the size of designer home we wanted. We definitely haven't given up hope that we will be able to find that almost perfect lot. At any rate, it was suggested that The Villages Relocation services contact us to suggest possible real estate companies in our area. Any feedback would be appreciated if this is something with which you've had experience. Thanks in advance!

Yes. I did not listen and picked my own real estate person. In retrospect, it would have been nice to deal with a real estate agent who understood where I was going. Thats the only difference. I did use Suddath Movers. I was very pleased. They picked up my daughters load and our load, brought it to Florida, delivered her stuff and put ours in storage for a month. It was very easy and Jean at Suddath was very helpful.

Default We Did!

We used the relocation service and couldn't have been any happier with the outcome. They were exceptional in all of our dealings and they certainly knew the local (Northern Virginia) realtors well enough to provide us with 2 choices.

We used the relocation service and were very satisfied with the process. The service gave us the names of 3 real estate agents in our area. We interviewed 2 and picked one of the 2. Our agent helped us market the home and it sold in 1 day in December. Relocation gave us contacts for 3 moving companies. We chose Suddath because they would be able to store our stuff for 3 months until our house was built and since they are located close to TV we could have access to our stuff should we need. Suddath did a great job loading our home and loading stuff from a storage facility for the move. They delivered our stuff to our new home from storage and without a scratch or loss. Just a thought, I found out from doing some research that spring and summer are the high season for movers and it will cost more and the wait for your stuff to arrive can be longer. We moved in January and there was only one other load on the truck with our stuff which tends to keep lost or missing items and breakage down as well as cost. Good Luck!

We used but the agent we finally signed up with didn't do a good job. I think it was that he had to give a percentage of his take to the villages and he wasn't going to cut into his money. Took house off market after the 6 months and someone else called brought a client by and sold the house within a day.

We also used the relocation service in TV. They contacted 3 agents in our area back in NJ and we interviewed 2 of them. The one we selected did a great job marketing the house and created a great brochure. She held a broker open house and then one on the following Sunday. We had a contract for near asking in 12 days.

We used them for a real estate agent and a mover. This is our 8th home, and I was really impressed with both.

We used The Villages Relocation Services to sell our home in Rochester, New Hampshire. They recommended 2 very proficient real estate agents with proven track records. After picking an agent with whom to list our home, we sold in 5 days and closed in 30 days. I was very pleased with using the relocation services.

We used the relocation service with great results. Chose one of two realtors recommended, but could have gone with either since we liked them both. The house sold in 9 days and we closed 40 days later. We also used Suddath for the move, and they were great.

It was our understanding from our agent (Coldwell Banker) that the Villages does not receive a fee for the referral or a portion of the proceeds. TV does expect reports from the agent as to what marketing is being done and the progress being made to sell the home. In our case, it was minimal as we sold in 1 day. Also in talking with TV personnel about using their service that they do not receive any monies from referrals they make. Usually referrals are made to national well known real estate brokers that are accustom to handling relocations. If you live in a large metropolitan area this works pretty well. Didn't ask about small town USA so have no idea about that. At least this is what we understood to be how it worked in 2011/2012.

Hate to rain on your parade, but I used them without success. Didn't feel the communication was up to snuff. Ended up not renewing with them. Had more showings selling it myself.

We are currently using them, as of 1 week ago. Service is good and they do get a commission back from the local relator.

Default relocation service

We tried to use them but the one agent they sent was from a town about an hour away in summer traffic. Scratch her, she's not schelping buyers in from another town down the beach, the other was local and seemed okay but I interviewed a third I picked on my own as "due diligence" and guess what? The commision was 1% less and no "administrative fees" tacked on. I think that answers the question as to the Villages getting a cut. I'll let you guess who I picked lol

We used the Village Relocation Service and highly recommend it. Our house sold 2 days ago after being on the market for 2 weeks! We quickly bought a house in Sanibel yesterday. We close on our Texas house in three weeks and will be full time TV residents on August 1st!! The process was CRAZY fast but we cannot wait!!

Maynay, Congratulations on selling your home so fast, and also on your impending transition to froghood. Hope your move to TV goes smoothly. And welcome to TOTV.
