Default New to Haciendas of Mission Hills

My husband and I bought a Wyndam on Montanya (where did they get that name?!) Terrace in October. We are stuck in Hawaii trying to sell our house and waiting for him to retire. My name is Mitzi and his name is Hank. We have two Chinese Crested dogs who are 11 years old named Butch and Mufi. Does anyone live close to where we will be living? I am dying to know about the neighbors and the neighborhood. All I do is read this forum and pack! If there is anyone out there near Montanya Terrace, please introduce yourself. The waiting is killing me!
We are from Jacksonville, Fl, but have lived in Hilo, Hawaii, Tallahassee, Fl; Lincoln, Ne; Athens, Ga; Anniston, Al; and Columbus Ga; (to name a few places) there are actually more, but I am getting too old to remember Can't wait to put The Villages on the list! Please neighbors, if you are out there, let me know! Thanks.

Hi Mitzi,

We do not live in Mission Hills, we are in Hacienda South. However, this past summer we on several occasions visited the Mission Hill pool. I can attest to some very friendly neighbors who we met at the pool. You are in a nice location, (you probably know this) very central to 2 of the 3 Town Squares. If there are no responses on this forum, once you arrive and spend a few days poolside, you will see how friendly the people are at Mission Hills. I do think many are seasonal, so the pool will not be crowded during the hot days of summer.

We live in the Haciendas of Mission Hills. we were one of the first to buy here but did not move until early November, a year after purchasing. It is a wonderful neighborhood. The people are friendly, active, lots of different activities organized. My husband and I are organizing couples golf once a month starting this month. There are people who organize weekly and twice weekly golf for the women and also for the men-9 and 18 hole. There are cards, scavenger hunts, line dancing, art and crafts, once a month socials, small scale get togethers, animal parades, etc. There is a lovely neighborhood pool. Mission Hills is about 4 minutes by golf cart to Lake Sumter Landing; 14 minutes or so to Spanish Springs; and 24 minutes to Bonifay. It is centrally located, lots of shopping out on 466 and 441. We love living here and welcome your arrival. There is nothing not to love about being here. And lots of people have dogs, we have two larger ones and lots of people have smaller ones. If you have further questions you can email me at jane032657@aol.com and I will be happy to answer them. You can relax though, you made a great choice, there is no bad choice in The Villages but Mission Hills really is in a great area to get to all three town squares.
