Default So excited to soon be new gilchrist residents !!

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to introduce ourselves since we can finally say with certainty that we will soon be residents of the Village of Gilchrist. We are Bruce and Marcy Snell. Bruce was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, and Marcy was born and raised and still has her heart (most of the time) in New Orleans, LA. We have waited five long months to get our design appointment next week, and we should be closing on our new home in April. We have been reading a lot of Gilchrist posts and we know about the great mayor, A-4's community contact list, "Hotrodgirl" and many other fun loving people that live or will soon live in Gilchrist. We haven't seen too many posts from folks moving to section 214 like us, but we hope we can still be welcome with open arms. We will probably have many questions and comments forthcoming soon, but we just wanted to touch base and say a good old fashion Spicy Cajun "HI"....!!!!!

See Ya Soon, Bruce and Marcy Snell (pug lovers forever)

SpicyCajunPugs, I love your screen name. Pugs are my favorite breed -- I still hope to be a pug mom someday maybe when I'm not working full time. Hope your move to The Villages goes smoothly!

Thanks, and pugs are our favorite breed of all time, and Bruce use to breed and had many dogs in the past. They shed and snore a little more than most people would like, but it is worth it to us. Hope to meet you soon.

We know we will love it...we debated a lot about the location in the villages, new or pre-owned, size, style, but we think we have finally decided. (we need to because of design appointment is next week) We are keeping the lot we reserved 5 months ago in 214, lot 52 at 3293 Vicksburg Ave. We are building an Iris as it fits our wants and needs well. It was funny because it seemed to be meant to be, which is why we haven't traded our lot in for another one. Marcy's late mother was born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and her maiden name was Evans (like in Evans Prairie), so we feel we should not mess with fate. Hope to meet you soon, and thanks.

I have just purchased a Lantana spec home in the Village of Pinellas and hope to be moving in May from Monroe, LA. I am so glad to hear that others from LA are coming to The Villages. I have a teacup Yorkie and a Shih Tzu. Please stay in touch and hope we can meet sometime in May.

We are moving to Gilchrist on April 3. Who is the mayor? I was thinking about starting a contact list, but maybe it's already being done. We'll be living on Haislip Ct (off of Resthaven). Our names are Jim and Gail Combes and my email is gailc101@comcast.net. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help

Welcome Jim & Gail and congratulations on your impending move. If you check out the thread "New Villagers in Gilchrist", you will find out who the officially, unofficial "mayor" of Gilchrist is!
"A-4 Skyhawk" is the "curator" of the contact list for many who live in Gilchrist and neighboring villages. If you send him a PM with your contact info he will add you to the ever growing list.
We recently closed on our home in Fernandina and had the opportunity to meet some of these wonderful folks when we were down for a short visit. We can't wait to be full time so we can enjoy it even more! You are going to love it!
Best to you!
Rona
