WVMtnBoy--Congrats on your closing and best of luck moving into your new home--can't wait to see it when we're down next month. To Hotrodgirl andCalcTeach very jealous that "the sand is starting to move on your property!" I bet you're thrilled and excited--we can't wait for that day to come for us--but I know once the design is picked it's not long after that!

WV- how exciting! Four more days to close!! Bet you can't wait now to see the final product. I think we are beginning to fill the streets a little bit as I know there is another build scheduled just a few days after mine and another after that! And so it begins!
Be sure to send us a picture of your new home so we all have something to enjoy and look forward to!
Awwww....HotRod! You know we will. I'll have to put is somewhere else for safe keeping because I wouldn't want anyone to mistakenly swipe the Corona and you come home to an empty fridge! We can't wait till you get here!!!!

CalcT... Did I see correctly that you are closing 12-12-12? How awesome is that! I am exactly one week ahead on the 5th! There will definitely be a party or two happening in Dec!! Can't wait to get my butt down there!

That's absolutely the truth Batman! Not a negative post in the whole run. You just don't see that anywhere! I have to say, you guys are the greatest neighbors that a guy could ever have. I was thinking about closing down the thread but I believe it should stay active because I'm certainly not the only newbie in Gilchrist (or Fernindina for that matter). So, if you all agree, let's keep this thread up and running till we all get settled. I'd love to see the final numbers!

You are all ahead of us so I hope we are not left behind in the dust! We won't have our design meeting until July so I hope you are not all partied out by the time we move down!
Gilchrist is well represented on here so we need to get some more Fernandinians posting!
Hotrod girl was going to be our next door neighbor but she moved lots and switched to Gilchrist so she is truly a Gilly Flocker!
Would sure like to find out who bought that lot next to us and will be our new neighbors!
Calc Teacher, I am like you since I am in my last year of teaching! Hope this year goes fast!

Thumbs up

I'm pretty good at woodworking light construction as hobby, had a chance to get into several houses prior to sheet rock, they do a very good build, sure I can nitpick stuff but really minor.

On finished models there are more issues I've seen, but again minor except one living room rug was a really bad job.

When mine is finished the builder will get a longer list than most hand him, I just have an eye for anything out of perfect.

But to the average buyer they will not see it.

All & all they build great houses, very happy to be working with these builders.

8500 people have read this. A hand full have decided to look for a place north of 466A after reading how crazy we are. Most have decided to come join the action in Gilchrist and Fernandina. I hope they drink Corona, white wine, and Margaritas

I am quite certain we won't be partied out by then! Any excuse to get something going..... no worries! Then we'll all have to go to your new place once you get settled so the round robin will continue as more and more newcomers move in! It will be a while before all these places are finished, and then we'll just have to start over!

I'd think that would warrant a six-pack!
