If you start cutting through yards you better watch out for the coyote hunters.
They're an Odd Pair especially when the night maneuvers start.

Hey Bill . . . . do you hunt ??

Well, in my infinite wisdom, i decided i had to have white cabinets. they are indeed thermafoil, Jimbo, and not my particular material of choice, but the only true white available. the "silk" cabinets are wood I believe and a cream color. Anyways, received a pic today from my agent.[ATTACH]6885[/ATTACH11-18living-jpg]

Carol--love the color combo of your kitchen and the hard wood flooring just makes everything "pop"--your did an awesome job in the design--can't wait to see it in person! P.S. The summer kitchen and spa can't be beat also

I was amazed at the pictures because you find yourself wondering about all your decisions after the fact and thinking if you will approve of the choices you made It's so hard not knowing exactly what the final outcome will be. But if nothing else, I love the kitchen which is vastly important to me. And the lanai. Oh-the wood floors look awesome! So now, the other hard part. I am busy packing up a bunch of boxes to ship down right after Thanksgiving. How does one person end up with so many clothes? I am waiting for more pictures of all your places! I truly find it as exciting to see as my own because everyone has their own additions and touches. Oftentimes I say "wish I had thought of that"! Scrambling to take care of business before heading down, but then so many of you have already experienced that! See you soon!

Hotrod Girl, your pictures are beautiful. Love the wood floors too. Good luck with all your packing. I know you close around the 5th of December. Will you be down there for awhile then? Linda

I joined TOTV 6 months ago today. At the time, I never thought that I would be writing this post as we were researching, exploring, etc. etc. TV life. Well, yesterday afternoon it became official as we plunked down our $$ and signed on the dotted lines!
Our design appointment could not have gone better. We worked with Stacey DeWitt who was just wonderful. She really made the process quite easy. A lot of thanks also goes to all of you on TOTV who have suggested, encouraged and offered excellent counsel. We had done a lot of legwork ahead of time. Thanks to hotrodgirl I was fully prepared with my spreadsheet and questions. As a result, we were able to achieve everything we wanted, plus more!
We are building a Lantana which we stretched 2' across the back, 4' in garage and a 4' lateral stretch to the kitchen, nook side. This increased the little storage room off the laundry room which now gives me my "space". I was also able to place the refrigerator along the back wall which was my preference and not opposite the counter area.
My suggestion to those who are still waiting to thru the design process is to ask what you want in terms of design features. Right now they are very flexible, but that is always subject to change. One thing I learned is that you can change up the cabinetry for the kitchen, bathrooms, etc. it doesn't all need o be the same. I decided to keep everything uniform as I had maxed out my brain on decisions by then.
Our closing is scheduled for 2/11/13 - just 83 days away. We won't be there to close, but should be there in early March to start to get settled in.
Up north, our contractors are hard at work trying to get us back into our home in several weeks - hopefully sooner! Visiting TV at this point in time was an excellent diversion and we as glad that we of followed thru with our plans.
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! We all have a lot to be thankful for this year!

So much good info! Thanks. We have our design appointment in 3 weeks and am so curious as to what we can do,and,of course, the cost! We are doing a Sunflower with some bumps! I want tile and am starting to price it outside closing, but am afraid I might not be able to match the baths ...
Interesting on the 83 days as we had been led to believe 70. Since we have not sold here yet, that is an ok thing! Any hints or advice ... Appreciated!
Congratulations and Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Morning
Rona, so good to hear from you and thanks for your enlightening post! I am so very happy for you that you were able to accomplish and achieve so much during your visit But more importantly, I was thrilled to hear that you have contractors underway in NJ and will be able to get your home back soon! I have been most concerned for you and all others affected by Sandy and am glad for some good news in that area I know you must be so excited to start this project and we will be waiting for pictures!
Linda, I will be arriving in TV on Dec 5th for closing and will be there through the beginning of April! Next season Oct thru April and hopefully a frog after that time! Yippee
Best of luck to you as well, Yankee as you begin the process! The designers are awesome, have good suggestions, and are there to help. I felt relieved when I realized it would be a thoughtful and concise experience and I am still grateful for Pam's expertise! She will be a visitor at my house for sure!
I so look forward to seeing and being in everyone's homes and getting to know all my wonderful neighbors! Thanks for your wonderful and encouraging comments!

Rona:

Glad to hear that things are moving along on the place in NJ. I am finally back up north and going into Seaside today to check on my place at the beach.

Sounds like you had a great design meeting. I'm hoping that ours goes as smoothly on 12/17 when we go back to the Villages for our meeting. Make sure to keep me posted via regular email on your status at Point Beach and TV.
