Well, you heard it here first! The Villages missed our closing date. Was to be today but had to be delayed until the 22nd. They have compensated us for the delay so we are go to go. We are still doing the walk through today @ 1300. Staying at Town Plaza Suites in Spanish Springs for now. Looking forward to seeing friends and neighbors during our stay.
Batman: How long are you staying? Ed and I arrive on Sunday...

Default Batman is in the Hood!!!!!

I have just had the nicest visit with Lee and Cion and understand that Saturday evening is a prime time for our Gillybration at EP! So let's plan to meet there at 7:30 on Saturday evening and visit with our Hawaiian couple Hope to see many of you there!

You've got me worried because we close the morning of the 2nd and have contractors lined up to do work that afternoon and for the next 3 days after. If I don't own the house they won't let us in to do the work. Did the Villages miss the closing or did your mortgage company not get stuff to the villages closing department in time to close?

I would not worry. Our first Citizens Loan Officer was promoted. The replacement quit a few weeks later. When the third took over things were a little disconnected and, between Citizens and the closing office, a key deadline was delayed. That caused the two day delay. The closing office allowed us to complete the builder walk through as scheduled, we signed a two day lease agreement and were given the keys and ID cards as scheduled but will not sign the closing documents and write the final check until Friday. We are happy with TV's handling of the whole affair and they did compensate us for the delay. Needless to say things would not have been as positive if we had used an outside mortgage company.

We are worried also because we have many contractors scheduled to show up right after our closing on April 10th, including the entire floor, doggie door, fans, lights, etc...we have been told we qualify by far, but they said they have been busy also...hope we don't have problems also.

We are closing with a small Citizens mortgage on April 10th...like our buddy A-4, we are concerned about problems...we have been told we are qualified easily, but they have put us on the back burner for earlier closings...and they said they are a tad behind...we are afraid they are way too far behind and may not close on time with us also...any advice?

I couldn't close in Dec, Citizens had over 200 closings and had to wait till Jan 2nd, so also missed my homestead exemption for the year.

They dropped the ball on some of my paperwork, had to wait till the next day.

Missed better deals on the movers and had to pay extra time on moving truck.

So far they have not compensated us the extra extra expenses, they told me about the guy quitting also and and the new guy not in place.

No big deal just a few bucks.

Spicy,
We ran into the same thing with Citizens, but difference was we were closing by mail and did not have contractors lined up. I called my sales rep who followed up with the bank and closing department to assure me that all would be okay. Our closing was scheduled for 2/11 (Monday) and we did not receive our UPS package from the closing department until Friday. It was nerve-wracking to say the least, and we weren't even in the same position as you! Only advice I can give is - patience, and a glass of wine (or beverage of choice) might help, too!

Default Gillys

Hello everyone. My wife Dawn and I (Greg) hope to be building soon in Gilchrist. We have secured a lot and are waiting for our home to sell. "Ughh" Seems to be taking forever, but I just wanted to jump in and say "Hi" and that I liked Gilchristians pretty well, but Gillys is shorter. We hope to see you all real soon.

Hi Everyone and welcome to our new members. You'll find, I think, that this is the greatest neighborhood you could ever want. The neighbors are fantastic and the group is very, very social. Hope to meet you all soon.
