Default Keeping our fingers crossed

Hello everyone. I have been lurking for awhile now and thank you all for the information on these forums. Our home is "under contract" with and inspection next week!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have gone through three realtors, lots of interest but no offers until this one. We are really taking a "hit" on our home, but we want to enjoy life in The Villages".
Please keep positive thoughts and prayers for us. Hoping to be at the August luncheon to introduce ourselves and say hello and thanks to all of you great people.

I think you're doing the right thing by "taking a hit on your home" and deciding to move on with your life. Best decision I've ever made was to buy in TV. Good luck with your plans.

Several years ago, we bought a condo. The president of the board was a real problem for us, so we sold our condo, taking a huge "hit". But, ever since then, we just smile and say that was the best money we ever lost. If we hadn't sold the condo, we would not have moved on with the rest of this great life.

Congratulations Galady and Aceskaters. I hope everything goes smoothly and you are both in TV in time for the next lunch at Crispers. I am still waiting for that magical day when I can write in that our house in under contract and we are packing up to move to TV. Its hard to be patient but whenever I hear the great news that someone's house has sold and they are on their to a new life I take heart and know that someday it will happen for me too. Have a great trip down and hope to meet ya'll soon.

Galady and aceskaters, I'm sooooo jealous. Congrats on your contract. It's saturday so I cleaned my house in case any one might want to see it, but it's 2:00 pm and no calls, I guess I'll just spend the day hanging around totv to get my tv fix. Where in the country are you? Benj

benji,
We are in Metro Atlanta, but not for long we hope. Our neighborhood is very settled, no foreclosures but plenty in surrounding areas. It has been hard getting people to committ to our home, plenty other to see, etc. We have a Colonial, 9 room home, updated kitchen, three bathrooms and all new floor coverings, etc. We thought our home would sell like hotcakes! what a surprise. We have St. Joseph stilled buried in a place of honor in our front yard-if all goes well, St. Joseph wll have a place of honor in our new home.
I am a nervous wreck, not sleeping well, --until all is finalized. Just had to let someone know that we are coming with bells on, ready to kick up our heels and enjoy, enjoy.

Good for you galady!!! And, please, don't sat that you are "taking a hit" ... NO, you have priced it RIGHT in order to get it sold. Many folks have been pricing their homes just above the going rate and have been following the market DOWN by continuing to adjust price just a little too high. You priced it right and now you can get on with the rest of you life. Well done!

I'm sure that the 'hit' you took is small in comparison to the 'hit' that many took in 2000-2003 in their 401(k)s and other investments. It's not just housing prices that work agasinst us when we contemplate retirement. You can't look back, you just have to move forward and invest as best you can.

I see too many people saying that they are going to wait for the housing market to improve so they can recoup their investment. In the mean time the housing market in TV will improve and probably faster because of pent up demand. You've done the right thing. Enjoy!
