Pet scan is not a big deal, I have had a few, they tend to be longer, and as I recall a contrast dye or something similar is used. Your doctor should be able to give you some information based on the location of the suspected cancer. A usually simple biopsy should also confirm the type of cancer. While I have NO direct experience, I understand Moffit is supposed to be good in this area.

I should have added there are a few locations in or very close to TV that can do the Pet Scan, Lake Medical Imaging is one of them as i recall.

First thing to do is to calm down and think rationally. I can tell you you are not the first to go through this and you will not be the last.

You could not have had these scans without a doctor ordering them. Make an appointment to see your primary care, or whoever ordered the scans. Make a list of your concerns such as --- what type of cancer this may be, what treatment do they suggest and go from there. Your doctor has been through this many times and he will be there for you.

I believe there is a cancer support group in TV, they can help you.

Good luck with your journey, and it is a journey, but most of us come out the other side alive and well. The medical profession has come a very long way in treating cancer.

Hey, there. as said above, speak with the doctor that ordered the CT scan first. Then, I would contact one of the Florida Cancer Specialists offices close by. There are several in our area in The Villages and Leesburg. Also, they have local radiation and all scanning facilities. Unless you have something special only Moffit can handle, FCS is an excellent practice also. (many of the local FCS doctor's were Moffit doctors when Moffit was in The Villages) Remember, if you have to travel for treatments and/or need help from friends and family, it's easier when you're closer to home. My 2 cents...good luck.
