Default Finally ... after more than 18 months

We have now transitioned from our Alaska home to The Villages.

While the transition of selling a home and moving more than 4500 miles was exhausting, we are re-energized after finally arriving at our new home.

After spending more than 18 months scouring web sites, looking at literally THOUSANDS of homes and learning about different locations inside and outside Florida, we feel confident that our selection will bring us joy.

Last night we sat out watching the distant lightning and this morning the rising sun and chorus of waking birds has us transfixed.

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone for being so helpful, sharing their knowledge here. That info and friendliness is what drew us here and we look forward to doing the same for others and maybe finally meeting some of you here.

I still will have to change the location information on my avatar ....

WELCOME HOME!!!!

#1: Lightening in Florida is crazy, but careful. Storms come quick and lightening will dance all around you.

#2: Enjoy a sunset over Lake Sumter from the bridge.

#3: If you walk that fish, don't let it poop in my yard.

Welcome, Bud. You are going to love it. I like the way you did your homework. There are probably no serious surprises. That's the way it worked for us.

If you equated your life in Alaska then Florida with TV Shows it could be like going from Mountain Men or Gold Rush To Swamp People.

All the best we are glad things worked out for you!

Wonderful! Hubby says about fish; “humongous!” He doesn’t want you walking that fish either.

Welcome Sourdough,

In Juneau we call that a "Chicken Halibut". I've caught Double Uglies bigger than that.

Congratulations...happy settling in to your new home; may you make many great memories there. That indeed is a very large fish. What did you do with your snow shovel?

Thumbs up another welcome!

We arrived in March 2019 after yrs of research & visiting other retirement communities. TV is the BEST place. We love the lightening, majestic cloud formations, sunrises & sunsets (our lanai faces north & we get the best of each), and the glorious birds too. I actually have embraced the humidity after yrs of northern living!
